Carrie Fisher, Susan Sarandon Join Dishonored's Voice Cast

Arkane Studios and Bethesda have announced the list of actors who are lending their vocal talents in the upcoming action game. The list is peppered with familiar names, including Carrie Fisher and Susan Sarandon.

“Having such talented actors voice Dishonored's compelling cast of characters adds a rich, powerful element to the game,” said Raphaël Colantonio, president of Arkane Studios. “We want to draw people into this virtual world and make it feel real. This celebrated cast adds wonderful depth and credibility to the overall Dishonored gameplay experience."

Here's the revealed cast, along character descriptions from Bethesda and Arkane:

  • Susan Sarandon will make her videogame debut as the former aristocrat, Granny Rags – an intriguing old blind woman now deranged after years of street life.
  • Brad Dourif takes on the role of the inventor Piero, creator of the iconic mask worn by Corvo as well as a wealth of gadgets Corvo can use.
  • Carrie Fisher can be heard broadcasting government propaganda over loudspeakers throughout the city of Dunwall, where the game is set.
  • John Slattery takes on the role of Admiral Havelock, a Loyalist who helps Corvo on his quest.
  • Michael Madsen brings his videogame voiceover experience to the role of Daud, a mysterious assassin.
  • Chloë Grace Moretz portrays Young Lady Emily, the Empress’ daughter who is kidnapped after her mother’s death.
  • Lena Headey plays Emily’s caretaker, Calista.

  • I think that this is gonna be such a great game. It looks beautiful and now we know that it's going to sound beautiful. I can't wait for this! Definitely on the top of my must-play list.
  • Well if Mark Hammil can make a living off voice-acting why can't Fisher? Dishonored is looking awsome.
  • Awesome! Hit-Girl, Princess Leia and Louise are gonna be in Dishonored. The game is already looking quite interesting and having this great casting is just icing on the cake.

  • John slattery! Woo!
  • Well, you can't say there won't be talent... ;-)

  • Oh dang, Michael Madsen is going to be in it?  I wonder who he is going to tell, "Are you going to bark all day little doggy, or are you going to bite?"

  • Great line-up, but boo for not giving any mention of regular VA's. They need love too. :(
  • This is going to be so cool... Princess Leia is in it? Awesome! -RGC
  • totally missed info on this one. great heads up GI.. thanks!

  • Can't wait for this game. It's going to be sick!

  • Awesome cast, LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Slattery.  And Moretz. And Madsen.  And...

  • Sounds good

  • If you look at the thumbnail from this article on the home page, you'll be treated to a LOL face
  • Susan Sarandon? Huh, kinda strange choice to me, I never would have imagined her in a videogame, or many of the other people.
  • Wow, quite a cast. Wouldn't expect many of them to do voicework in a video game. Wonder if they were drawn to the project because of its quality or because of a paycheck, though? Always interesting to see how big-name actors treat video game roles...

  • I thought this game came out on October 9?!?
  • Princess Leia is on this game?! HECK YEA!!!!!!!!!
  • Never thought I would see Susan Sarandon's name come up as a voice actor for a video game. While I am definitely not saying having bigger names for voice acting is a bad thing, I really don't think it is necessary. There are many voice actors who have made a career out of it, and they can be just as emotionally effective as big name actors.

Nonetheless, it's a great cast, and I am highly intrigued to see how Susan Sarandon does.

  • Casting people simply because they're relatively well-known names rather than for actual voice acting skills, just like all the rest. I've lost just a bit of respect for Dishonored. Though, it is Bethesda, and they have a history of casting for star power over talent, so I shouldn't be surprised.

  • We get Princess Leia and Hit Girl? Neat.
