The lights are on
Capcom confirmed a title update for Dragon's Dogma that includes an easy mode is available on August 6 in North America. The publisher confirmed a new demo of the game is also coming where you can play through the game's opening and the hydra battle. The demo hits August 9 in Japan. A North American date has not been revealed.
Capcom said earlier this week Dragon's Dogma shipped over 1 million copies worldwide despite struggling to sell outside of Japan. The company plans to turn it into a franchise, suggesting a sequel will eventually release.
How about instead adding a patch which raises the enemies levels everytime you start a new game plus?
This is bound to be good for casual players, but at the same time rather bad for the overall experience, one of the best things RPG's have to offer is the great sense of progression, for example:If a monster is to though, you can go fight other weaker monsters, buy new equipment and level up,only to go back and face said monster as a powered up God,and the sense of accomplishment after delivering that epic final blow is super satisfying and makes for a nice, fun and generally entertaining challenge. On the other hand what Capcom has to include in the game is a less cumbersome fast travel system(yes, I have the portable portcrystal and can buy FS's for 9,000G's)but it's still generally annoying.
Really? Why? Game is great, why add an easy mode? ... will that just make it a movie then?
Looking forward to the demo. Given the mixed reviews, I was sitting on the fence about this one.
This is the opposite of what I wanted. I RUE THIS DECISION.
Is "Easy Mode" all that the patch is bringing to the table? Not that I am for or against Easy Mode. I am all for what could attract people to what I believe is a fantastic game, its just that if they wanted to add an Easy Mode, I also agree with the others who posted comments wanting a higher difficulty. To add JUST an Easy Mode seems like half of an idea.
Cool. Still waiting to pick this one up...
