The lights are on
id Software co-found John Carmack provided an update on the release of Doom 4 during his keynote today at QuakeCon. He says the game is still in development and will be done when it's done. Carmack later stressed the importance of shorter development cycles going forward.
He also revealed the studio's internal mobile games division was shut down, shifting focus to development of AAA games, such as Doom 4. Carmack also explained that once Doom 3: BFG Edition is complete, the entire studio will be moved to development on Doom 4.
id Software released six mobile games, including Rage HD and Wolfenstein RPG.
That's really good to hear.
I expect a cover story GI. Make it happen!
Well, I'm going to hope that this game will offer something interesting, but the destroyed urban environment has been so overused lately that I doubt merely throwing demons into the mix will inspire me to pay more attention.
There better be some proper battles with Cyberdemons in this one.
I just want a trailer. One trailer will hold me over for another year.
Isn't John Carmack Id's mobile games division? So he just moved onto helping with Doom 4 instead of porting games mostly by himself?
They never disappoint!
I should get III....been meaning to...
