Dawnguard Hits PC, PS3 Version Not Ready

Bethesda announced the first Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim download content, Dawnguard, is now available on PC. It can be purchased through Steam for $19.99.

The publisher provided the following statement regarding the PlayStation 3 version:

We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC.

We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.

Comments
  • Ohh well. I just got Dead Space 2 from Gamefly, so I can wait.
  • Well, good for PC players I guess.
    Really sucks for those PS3 players though. You guys are just getting boned all over the place by this game.
  • finally crossbows and some lord armor mods

  • F*** Bethesda. Seriously get your S*** together.

    EDIT: Since i cant respond any more for some reason as of 6:18PM EST

    @The Destoyer:
    Granted i can buy it on my PC i wont, because of the notion i should pay twice to play the game properly.

    @The Dirty Llama:
    Read @ShiiRo post to understand my frustration with Bethesda.

    EDIT 2:
    @The Dirty Llama and The Destroyer want to respond to me specifically, just post it to my wall on here... since i cant respond, i think we can have a civil conversation
  • I'll admit, if all I had was a PS3.....I wouldn't be very happy. This is kind of ridiculous.
  • Oh Crap! I wasn't ready! No warning! Now it's too late for me to ask for tomorrow off at work. :P
  • ...porr PS3 players
  • Well why didn't they say it wasn't coming to PS3 early instead of saying 'we will have information for you later this week'?
  • Wow, what? I thought it was free...dang. Oh well, wasn't gonna get it anyway, not worth it.

  • That seems expensive. Wasnt it only the equivalent of $15 for 360?
  • I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend.

  • Time to login to steam real quick.
  • I love Bethesda but its sad how shoddily they treat PS3 versions of their games and their users. Say what you want about developmental limitations but at this point some of the blame has to go to the developers. At least they're holding off for a 'fix' but I'm beyond sick of exclusive and early content based on what system you play on. I say it's time to bridge the divide.
  • PS3 users get boned all the time, they are used to it by now.
  • They were ready to take ps3 owner's $60 last November with an inferior product.
  • Glad I own an Xbox and have therefore had the option to play through both story lines already.  Good addition to Skyrim if you ask me.

  • Finally! I've been wanting to start over in Skyrim for a couple months now.

  • They don't want to do the same thing they did to ps3 users when they released Skyrim.
  • Hahahahaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......... *takes breath* HaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaahahahahaHAH!!!!!!!!!!
  • Mod
    Not really a big deal to me. It will be released when it's released. I bought Skyrim for the core game. Not for some DLC Bethesda is nice enough to make afterwards.
