Battlefield 3 Premium Subscriptions Hit 1.3M

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jul 31, 2012 at 10:51 AM

Hot off the heels of its announcement that Star Wars: The Old Republic is going free to play, Electronic Arts has revealed that Battlefield 3 Premium subscriptions have soared past the one million mark.

The news comes from EA's fiscal report for the first financial quarter of 2013, which puts the number of Battlefield 3 Premium subscriptions at 1.3 million. Last month, EA reported that 800,000 players had signed up for the service in its first two weeks of availability after its launch at this year's E3. While Call of Duty Elite subscribers pay an annual fee of $49.99, Battlefield 3 Premium's fee is a one-time payment of $49.99 for all five Battlefield 3 expansion packs, plus early access to maps and exclusive items.
