The lights are on
This fall has an impressive slate of upcoming games. Many of the most anticipated titles are new entries in previously existing series, like Halo, Darksiders, Transformers, Borderlands, and Assassin's Creed. For some gamers, this means that it's time to replay earlier titles to prepare for the latest installments. Are you one of them?
Arguments can be made for both sides. On one hand, the holiday gaming season is busy, and wasting valuable time on old games isn't giving you anything you haven't seen before. On the other hand, it does bring the events and the lore to the forefront of your mind. So which camp are you in? Will you spend time replaying old games like Assassin's Creed Revelations and Halo 3 just to get yourself ready for this year's blockbusters?

If the story is important and I don't remember it, then yes, I'll replay old games.
Also, if the multiplayer is important.
Have been playing through the Assassins Creed series, just finished brotherhood. And played through Darksiders once i red the cover story last year to get ready for it.
Always do
I am planning on playing through Darksiders again soon, also getting some time in on Borderlands before the sequel drops. I enjoy getting back into old games before a sequel drops, its the reason I usually keep my favorite titles around after I am done with them. I've actually spent most of my time the past month playing Skyrim so that I could get through it before all the new games start coming out, I couldn't believe I left it sitting on my shelf since the day it released without barely even touching the game.
I just beat Assassin's Creed 2 and I plan on finishing Brothahood and Revelations before 3 comes out. I freaking love that fiction and I plan on buying the vita bundle if the price is reasonable.
I think that the best way to catch up for Halo 4 is to read certain books in the Halo franchise. Ghosts of Onyx and Glasslands give you everything you need.
Currently i'm playing both
I am actually playing all of the Assassin's Creed games to get ready for the new one. Why wouldn't you??? It makes the new one all the more exciting. I will probably try to get the first black ops played again before the next one comes out. We shall see
If I can score AC3 then yeah I'll play brotherhood and revelations again. For Fall of Cybertron I'm defiantly going to be playing War of Cybertron, As for halo 3 again..ehh i could go either way the events of the game are still in my brain.
I sure am!
I'm going to replay each Halo campaign shortly before Halo 4's release, and with Resident Evil, every core game in the series.
i normally do my best to catch up on titles i missed when waiting for sequels to come out since i like to play them in order normally but my time for games isn't what it used to be so its hard now , i really need to stop putting off darksiders :/
the only game i am playing to get caught up with is castlevania lords of shadow whitch is really good so far
I've been playing Halo 3 every time new Halo 4 info comes out because that just gets me in my storyline state of mind (And become more excited for the game!) :)
Played all of my Assassins Creed games, and even a little bit of Halo as well.
If I haven't played earlier titles in a while, I do go back to play a bit of them. I don't go through a full game unless the gameplay catches me again or it's really easy to complete the storyline.
This happens for me when a game comes out that I never played any other entries. For me this keeping me from Assassins Creed because I still haven't played any of them.
Yeah, I am one of those people that do that. I have been playing Pikmin and Pikmin 2 to get ready for Pikmin 3 while I might end up playing Luigi's Mansion to get ready for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. I don't know yet, but I might end up playing some more games to get me ready for the sequels.
