Why Hasn't Bethesda Announced Dawnguard For PS3 Or PC?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's first downloadable expansion, Dawnguard, was originally planed as a 30-day exclusive for Microsoft. That expired yesterday, but there is still no word on a PS3 or PC release for Dawnguard.

In a recent Twitter post, vice president of Bethesda Softworks Pete Hines said, "We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you."

We're sure that's not what PS3 or PC user want to hear, but hopefully we'll hear an update about these version soon.

  • Ok Mr. Hines, you may have lost a customer here. I was initially excited for Dawnguard on PS3 when it was announced, a bit annoyed when it went to 360 first, and now I don't even know if I'm interested any more. We're not far off from it being a year since Skyrim out - I've had my fix. Good job on taking too long!
  • What the *** is this ***? PS3 and PC owners are getting screwed. Bethesda totally sold out to Microsoft. What assholes.
  • well, seeing as how i haven't played the game, it doesn't matter to me. Still, for all of those who do have the game, it is unsettling.

  • I hate it when DLC is released and new achievements are created then added to everyones account.  Even those without the dlc

  • I find it ironic that Microsoft purchased exclusivity to make a game add-on exclusive to one of its systems. ONE of its systems. Microsoft owns Windows so they've basically screwed themselves over by not having it on both systems. I don't understand their strategy. Hey, we have two platforms, but let's pay to make it exclusive to just one!
  • That's because Bethesda sucks Dick. Well, to be specific, they suck Microsoft's Dick.

  • Whatever.  I'm waiting for the GOTY edition before buying any DLC.

  • I hope people know that SONY does the EXACT same thing! Sony paid DICE to delay the patching of BF3 on xbox, so that PS3 could get the dlc first. Also, Sony paid Ubisoft for "timed DLC exclusivity" for Assassins Creed 3 and the new Splinter Cell game. Both timed for PS3 exclusivity.

This *** needs to stop. But ignorant monkeys need to remember that Sony does the exact same crap. Both console manufacturers and/or developers need to get their *** together...

  • I got it on the Xbox but it is kinda messed up that they haven't released it for other platforms.

  • Booo. I don't care about PS3 but if you have it available for 360, by default, you should also have it available for PC. Please don't be a jerk, Bethesda. And get rid of that stupid: Must be logged into Steam to play thing, if you can. I'm tired of a third party telling me I can't play your game if I'm not connected. I didn't pay them, I payed you (Well, technically Gamestop), Steam is a third wheel on a two wheel purchase, so to speak.
