The lights are on
It looks like director Sam Raimi won't be making the World of Warcraft film due to his scheduling with another movie.
Talking to CraveOnline Raimi said, "Actually, they don't have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job [Oz: The Great And Powerful], they had to move on to another director. They had to start making it."
Raimi's last comment might indicate that the movie has or will start production soon, so perhaps all is not lost.

Why...? How...?
I hope this doesn't get lost in development hell, this could be so good. I'd love to see them focus on events of WC3, but I'd really be open to anything from the universe.
If they did a good Wrath of the Lich King story line it could be not terrible. They have a lot to work with lore wise with anything they do but Wrath just seems more straight forward.
I wonder what game it would be based off of. There are quite a few, including the MMO.
A wow movie eh? Wonder if the gold farmers will infiltrate this, they have everywhere else..lol
It's sad how un-surprised I am.
At this point I will never believe a video-game movie is being made until I see a full trailer of one. We need to stop thinking that because a director gets attached to a video-game movie that its "being made", because it usually wont happen. It gets shot down eventually.
Too bad. I didn't think Sam Riami did bad with the Spider-Man films. In fact, Riami had some interesting ideas for the WoW movie. It could have been good. Oh well, just hope another good director is found.
Well, at least we know he's no longer doing Spider-Man 4... ;-)
