The lights are on
To coincide with Comic Con, Microsoft and Machinima have released a full trailer for Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, a new live-action, five-episode web series that will debut on the new Machinima Prime YouTube channel this fall.
The series centers around Thomas Lasky (played by actor Tom Green -- not THAT Tom Green, don't worry), a young cadet at the UNSC Academy. The series will depict Lasky's conflicted feelings about his role in the war between the humans and the Covenant -- and what he learns from Master Chief, who appears to play an important role in the series. Forward Unto Dawn takes place slightly before the beginning of the human/Covenant war, setting the stage for Halo 4.
Microsoft also announced that, as part of the $99 Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition, you'll get a special 90-minute version of the live action series, as well as some expanded content and a making-of featurette.

They should have had the voice actor from the game do the Chief's lines in these. Other than that, it's ambitious and I like it!
Loved when the Chief showed up. I felt kinda a star trek vibe from the whole academy, but it was still pretty awesome.
Just watched this from bed and noticed about halfway through the trailer that my girlfriend had put down her book and was watching over my shoulder. Mind you, this girl hasn't touched a video game in her life and thinks 'Halo' is a Beyonce song. But when it ended, she said "that actually looks sick, when is it on?". If that doesn't scream awesome, I don't know what does.
Sweet. This is probably as close as we'll get to a Halo movie, which is fine because this actually looks better than something Hollywood would come up with lol.
Woah. I just subscribed to Machinima.
