Activision Releases First Walking Dead FPS Trailer

Last week, Activision revealed that it was publishing Terminal Reality's FPS take on Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead. Now they've released the first stage-setting trailer for the game, which unfortunately doesn't feature any gameplay. Activision is giving away a little something at Comic-Con, however, which could help reduce the sting.

Activision is giving the first 100 people who preorder the game (at booth #5344) a special necklace. The zombie-ear necklace is based on the one that Daryl Dixon sports in AMC's Walking Dead show. It's not a crossbow, but it's something. If you can't make it to Comic-Con, take a look at the game's first trailer, below.

The Walking Dead Video Game follows Daryl and his brother Merle as they head to Atlanta at the beginning of the undead breakout. If you've read the comic, you know that Atlanta isn't the refuge that the brothers are hoping for. Of course, if it was, it wouldn't make for the most exciting game.

Look for the game in 2013 on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

  • This is pretty much just gonna be another zombie game, except with the Walking Dead story. The only problem with that is we already know the walking Dead story.
  • Well that trailer explained a lot...-_-
  • I'm getting it.

  • I have a feeling this could have been an awesome game had they tried anything other than a FPS. I'm thinking a game along the lines of Amensia, but in the Walking Dead setting.
  • Holy hell, that necklace surely isn't going to make me want to pre-order right away. Gameplay first, please.
  • I'd rather Left4dead than some crummy Activision published game.
  • Will buy this

  • I want to see gameplay before I decide anything.
  • The equivalent of dangling a dollar bill over a child's head. Fool me never...

  • Well, I won't be getting this game... but it does make me want to check out the show

  • Well, if nothing else we still have the amazing TellTale series to play.
  • Don't write it off yet. For all we know, there could be some awesome game-mechanics under the hood that would make it fun to play(but most-likely not)!
  • I always thought Daryl was a ***, might be picking this up if they have some proper survival mechanics

  • Pros: I get to play as Daryl Dixon (my favorite character in the show).

    Cons: Activision.

Hm... I think I'll keep my eye on it.

  • The adventures of dumb and dumber!!
  • It gonna' sell good, but only because it has The Walking Dead on it. Activision sells a lot of stuff that way (WoW, CoD, Tony Hawk awhile ago, Guitar Hero about 5 years ago).
  • Very cool trailer... too bad no gameplay. But who would want those ears necklace... kinda lame if you ask me.
  • MEH
  • It could be great, especially with the story they have to work with.
  • Here's hoping they get Norman Reedus to do Daryl's voice. He is by far my favorite character on the show, I'm excited to see what sort of origin story Activision has in store for him and Merle.
