Halo 4's Forge Mode Developed By Certain Affinity

by Kyle Hilliard on Jul 08, 2012 at 08:31 AM

Certain Affinity, the company behind Crimson Alliance, a number of map packs and expansions for games like Call of Duty and Halo, and the recent Halo HD remake, are handling the development duties for Halo 4's Forge mode.

The news comes from the recent Rooster Teeth Expo, where the mode was shown off for the first time, which you can see in the video below. The updated forge mode comes with all kinds of new updates, like a new shadowing system, the ability lock objects in place and magnetize objects, and something called, "Player Trait Zones". With Player Trait Zones, certain areas can be modified to affect player speed, damage reception, and jump height among other things. Player Trait Zones can also be used to affect gravity.

Halo 4 is coming to Xbox 360 November 6.
