The lights are on
Update: Halo series developer 343 Industries has reportedly denied that a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition is currently in the works.
The developer reportedly quashed the rumor via an internal company resource for retailers called Microsoft ExpertZone. "We are not working on that at this time. We are kind of busy," said an unidentified 343 representative.

Original Story: According to the rumor section of the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, a remake of Halo 2 is currently in development at 343 Industries.
According to the magazine, "Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary." There is no real evidence or sources to substantiate the claim, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see Halo 2 get a high-definition remake. Maybe a remake could afford Halo 2 the opportunity to have a real ending.

Halo 2 maps were easily the best of the series
duh, watch the unlocked terminal from halo CEA it links to halo 2!
I've been wanting this ever since I picked up Halo Anniversary and enjoyed it alot.
I would love an HD remake of my favorite Halo! HELL YEAH!
I never got to play halo 2 multiplayer online, so this would be amazing! Halo 2 is also my favorite Halo game
the likelyhood of this seems pretty possible. I would buy this over the first halo remake. They just need to bring the multiplayer of Halo 2 in remastered glory in order to make me consider buying this.
I don't see why microsoft can't just put a few servers up and reopen Halo 2's Live. That would be better than having to buy a whole new game. On the point of a "real ending" it all ready has one, it's a little game called Halo 3.
This should happen. And no, it won't have Halo 2's multiplayer. That'll never happen, as they said with Halo: CE. It's an issue with the netcode not being compatible and having to redo everything precisely as it was would be a seriously daunting task, on that people would pick apart and complain about forever.
Halo 4's multiplayer looks great. If they built it flexible enough to modify weapon damage, turn on dual weilding, turn off armor effects, etc., then they could just make a Halo 2 Anniversary playlist set with offering variants in each and just have it run on Halo 4's multiplayer. That would be okay will me, so long as all the original Halo 2 maps are remade along with it, for the complete Halo 2 experience. Anything less would be uncivilized (lol).
Nice, very nice.
The only reason I would get it is if it had a really great multiplayer systems, such as maps and all that. Otherwise, I just don't see this working out very well.
Great for xbox users. I hope they add something new to the multiplayer though. I cant stand the same one from reach.
This has to be true!!!!!!Please.....
that would be pretty cool
