The lights are on
Certain Affinity, the company behind Crimson Alliance, a number of map packs and expansions for games like Call of Duty and Halo, and the recent Halo HD remake, are handling the development duties for Halo 4's Forge mode.
The news comes from the recent Rooster Teeth Expo, where the mode was shown off for the first time, which you can see in the video below. The updated forge mode comes with all kinds of new updates, like a new shadowing system, the ability lock objects in place and magnetize objects, and something called, "Player Trait Zones". With Player Trait Zones, certain areas can be modified to affect player speed, damage reception, and jump height among other things. Player Trait Zones can also be used to affect gravity.
Halo 4 is coming to Xbox 360 November 6.

cool, certain affinity has always worked with bungie since halo 2 with the halo series making a lot of maps and additions for the halo experience, so this is really cool to see that they are working on this too with 343 industries for sure and continuing their halo tradition with their new partners, woo woo!
Im not a huge fan of the halo series.
In all honesty though halo 4 looks ******* AMAZING.
The "Player trait Zones" sound like they'll be fun to use when forging. The Object name highlight's and well everything look great, 343 is obviously doing a great job.
AWESOME!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT!!!
Man, I can't wait. If it's anything like Reach's Forge Mode, then I'll love it.
Sounds like it will be a big step up from the customization options in Reach. It would be nice if they eliminated or increased the money cap, in addition to the new changes.
Yes, no more long hours wasted aligning two pieces. Hail the power of magnets, we bow to thee!
seems like Forge will finally be good!
