Weekend Warrior 6/29/12

by Jack Gardner on Jun 29, 2012 at 02:00 PM

This weekend our plans include deciding that we are too cool for electronic entertainment, make life-sized sculptures of cows made out of butter, and talking about how great Duke Nukem Forever was. None of those are true. Read on to learn the real hijinks that we will be having this weekend.

Kyle Hilliard: There might be some Lollipop Chainsaw happening this weekend, or maybe some Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, or possibly some Uncharted: Golden Abyss, or maybe, just maybe, some Touch My Katamari. There will, however, definitely be some laundry and some house vacuuming.

Tim Turi: I’m on the tail end of moving, so a little bit of free time has appeared. Unfortunately my internet connect is complete crap right now, so downloading the new ending to Mass Effect 3 or Skyrim’s Dawnguard DLC is tricky. I hope to at least finish up Transformers: War for Cybertron.

Josh Straub: I will be playing League of Legends for sure, trying to earn enough IP to unlock Blitzcrank. Beyond that, there's an antique book sale on the state fairgrounds I'm probably going to hit up with my dad.

Ben Hanson: I’ve really let myself down lately. I still haven’t finished Xenoblade and/or Diablo 3. I hope to find some time for both of those games this weekend in addition to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Quantum Conundrum, Penny Arcade 3, and Spelunky. The good news is that I’m on vacation all of next week and I hope to make a dent in my backlog of games. I also bought a copy of Banjo Kazooie and Wheel of Fortune for the N64, I’ve never played a Banjo game and am really looking forward to diving in. Have a good weekend!

Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I’m going to continue plugging away at Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. I also have my weekly Borderlands appointment with Bryan and Jeff Cork, and want to download episode two of The Walking Dead as well. Any left over time will be spend on the new Avengers Pinball FX 2 tables. Who said summer is a slow time for gaming?

Jack Gardner: In addition to celebrating a family birthday on Saturday, I will be working on my second playthrough of Mass Effect 3. I can’t wait to get my hands on that perfectly free end game content that Bioware put out! Other than that I might begin reading through Name of the Wind for the second time.

Ali Rapp: I'd love to be playing Dawnguard, but my 360 was recently fried by lightning (boo-urns), so I'll be spending the weekend coloring in my new My Little Pony coloring book, painting my nails (don't judge me!), and putting some more time into my replay of Okami. I'd also love to finish the book I'm reading. It's by Laura Kipnis, who is pretty much my academic/gender scholar soulmate.
