The lights are on
EA said more than 800,000 players signed up for its Battlefield 3 premium service in the first two weeks.
Speaking to USA Today, EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund said, "We are very pleased with the performance so far." Soderlund also suggested EA could implement similar services for its other products.
"We're actually only two weeks into it, so it's a little early to tell how this is going to pay off," he said. "It certainly it looks very promising right now." Battlefield 3 Premium launched at E3 earlier this month. It provides players with exclusive content and early access to expansion packs.

If your heavily invested in the game it really is worth it considering you get all the map packs for a discounted price. I can see virtually every multiplayer game using this type of platform it's pretty much the same thing as a season pass.
crap that's $40 million
I'd be interested to know what percent of the people playing Battlefield are on this.
That's a lot of people in two weeks. I'm not premium but I do often consider buying it.
