The lights are on
Nintendo today announced the hiring of Duncan Orrell-Jones, the new senior vice president of network business. Orrell-Jones will oversee the development of Nintendo of America's digital business for the Wii U and 3DS.
“Duncan Orrell-Jones brings knowledge and hands-on experience to Nintendo that will help us develop and implement long-term digital initiatives for our systems,” said president Reggie Fils-Aime. “By creating this new position we’re demonstrating our commitment to the expansion of our online business, and Duncan is the perfect person for the job.”
Orrell-Jones previously worked at The Walt Disney Company since 1993, where he recently served as senior vice president in the Disney Interactive Media Group. He starts on July 1, 2012.
Idk if people are going to up and leave their Xbox/ps3 to start playing games online on the wii u. I may be wrong but unless I know friends which are getting it, and of mine only 1 or 2 are even interested, it won't be my go to online system.
Looks like they're really taking this whole online thing seriously
There was no one here before? That explains a lot.
Thank God it wasn't Mark Tuttle.
Managing online at Nintendo must be an easy job.
I'd like to know more about what this man did with Disney. Hopefully he helps Nintendo.
Hmmm... Pretty interesting.
Let's hope Nintendo doesn't force us to pay for online like Microsoft does with XBLA.
Why did they have one before?
Sounds cool, Im excited to see nintendo create a real online community.
