  • that blows.............

  • Geez, that's a lot of closings.

  • Sega is slowly coming to its knees...
  • Why all the doomsaying? It clearly says: "Sega is entering a new and exciting phase that will position the company as a content led organization maximizing sales..."
  • SEGA has one game that is successful and thats the TOTAL WAR series. SEGA needs to take Square Enix example and realize that their internally developed games are failing, and they should try and purchase good western developers. Square Enix has a lineup of Hitman Absolution, Thief 4, Tomb Raider and the next Deus Ex game coming this quarter and next year. Not to mention they own a minority share in Rocksteady so they get profits from the Batman games. Japanese companies need to heed Square Enixs example. The world is shifting towards western developed games in general and if they want to survive they need to adapt not continue making 4000 sequels to a game that once was great.

  • No Dreamcast 2 ?!?! ... JK, JK.

  • Well at least the American Sega building is still up, and Sega has everything under control for gods sake. And if anyone wants Bayonetta 2, why not send Sega a letter, and tell them your ideas for Bayonetta 2?! Just saying. Plus All-Stars Racing Transformed is a Sonic game I'm really looking forward to. Can't wait!!!
  • In sure those who are out of jobs are thrilled with Sega's "new and exciting phase."

  • SEGA can't live off of Sonic forever. They need something fresh and new. And this is all coming from someone who's played Sonic since the days of the Genesis.
  • It's so sad that a company that once threatened to take the crown from Nintendo has now come to this. I think it's safe to say that the Sega we all fondly remember is never coming back. We would all do well to grieve and just move on.

  • “Sega is entering a new and exciting phase that will position the company as a content led organization maximizing sales with strong and balanced IP such as Sonic the Hedgehog..."

Ahahahahahah...Oh sorry. Okay, really mates: how is closing down branches "an exciting phase?"

  • As much as I wish it were so, I sincerely doubt that Sega ever becomes a solid company again so long as they continue to put out Sonic shovelware and don't expand on their new IP that could give them hope.

  • i guess sega really does what nintendon't... seeing how nintendo hasn't closed any of it's offices.

  • They just need to make Shenmue 3, and then all will be right with the world.

  • And to think, there was once a time when Sega was a major player in the console market. It doesn't even seem like that long ago.
  • sega how sad you aren't what you once were....   now let yu make shenmue 3 before you crumble or he dies...seriously :(

  • As long as Total War is okay, I'm fine...
  • This sucks I hope Sega can stay afloat I love there games they publish and make even if there sonic games suck lol
  • No Sonic games for a while?
  • Sad. I didn't know they owned anything other than Sonic.
