Project X Zone To Feature More Than 200 Characters

The Capcom, Sega, And Namco Bandai crossover project will reportedly feature more than 200 characters from assorted franchises.

This doesn't necessarily dictate playable characters, but rather all characters, enemies and friendlies alike, who will appear in the game.

Project X Zone is a tactical game featuring two on two matches coming to the 3DS. You can check out a trailer for the game by clicking here. A North American release for the game has not been confirmed, so there is a chance it may not release here in America. It should be releasing in Japan some time this year.

  • Sounds Nice
  • I wouldn't be surprised if it was playable. A while back there was a Dragon Ball game that sported a large number of playable, and I believe that the Harry Potter LEGO games sport a rather large number. But of course, those were console titles and this is a handheld game.
  • I see some people from Valkyria Chronicles and .hack, which I like. ^_^

  • This game looks weird for some reason. I will have to see more, because I am just not intrigued yet.

  • I don't even know what's going on with this game. That trailer really didn't tell much. And it's not even a fighting game.
  • game sounds interesting, they should make it a console game

  • It seems to follow the battle engine from Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, which did get a U.S. release on the DS. Basically, in battle, the point is to juggle your opponent. You have a list of moves that when you deploy, knocks the opponent into the air. You can continue to press various buttons to launch more attacks until your ability points meter runs out. Before it depletes, you also have the option of tagging in another member of your party who can continue the chain with their full ability meter. If at any point you let the enemy make contact with the ground through other mistiming your attacks or running out of points, the combo ends. Interestingly enough, this game also had a bunch of Namco crossovers, allowing two characters from Namco x Capcom to join your party, as well as Kos-Mos.

  • These apples behind my house simply are not packing their bags and leaving. They still think we're friends.
  • And they're only making it for the 3ds?! What a waste.

(not because it's on the 3ds, but because it's ONLY for the 3ds)

    EDIT:

Oh wait, it's not a usual fighting game at all but tactical? Never mind them. The 3ds can have it.
  • I dont know about this... and also this is a handle hand game so, it might not work?!?
  • That's a ridiculous number.
  • Would be nice if it combined Marvel, DC & Mortal Kombat instead of these stupid characters...
  • Holy ***. Now I'm even more hyped for this game.

  • you throw hundreds of characters into one game and you get....???
  • This game looks great! Please come to America!
  • I wish people would stop saying this isnt a fighting game it obviously is. what other type of game could it be. Just look at the trailer to answer your question
  • A tactical game? Really!? You put all those amazing characters together for a TRPG? What a waste...
  • here if anyone wants to know about how the game will play

So far Capcom has 12; sega has 14; and Namco 14 characters but the game is said to have over 70 voice actors so more characters are likely to show up.
  • I'm wondering if it will even come here. Some fighters from japan can't be released here due to different companies having licensing and publishing rights to different characters within a game. With so many characters in this game there's a good chance of that happening to it.

  • Looks awesome
