Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced Namco Bandai Games is leading development on the Super Smash Bros. title for Wii U and 3DS.

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the Super Smash Bros series, is heading the project from his Sora Ltd. studio. Masaya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer) and Yoshito Higuchi (Tales series) from Namco Bandai will oversee the game as well.

hmm...

This one doesn't like it when Nintendo's franchise games aren't done by Nintendo.

Edit: I realize that Capcom made The Minish Cap, and that F-Zero GX exists, but that doesn't really change my opinion. I never liked The Minish Cap/Sages, nor F-Zero in general. So my statement remains, unchanged.

Umm, yay? I hope that its better than the previous versions.

Edit: Umm, I noticed that my comment puzzled people. For the record I enjoy every Smash Brothers, and I do want to see it improve. I guess a lot of people must leave negative comments. But mine was not intended as a negative. Sorry about the confusion.

I dont know what to think, I just want this to be the best Smash Bros EVER!!! Dlc stages and Characters would be cool. Masaya Kobayashi has good games under his wing same goes for Yoshito Higuchi

Please, please, please, please, please don't add more NON-NINTENDO characters to an almost fully Nintendo game! I have all three Super Smash Bros' and in Brawl I liked that they tried to take to a story to keep it interesting, but Snake felt out of place IMO.

Title threw me off. They are not leading the development, they are helping in development. Almost had a heart attack, not that I think Namco is bad, just that Nintendo is really the best to do a Smash Bros.

Finally Nintendo is letting up to try and open the doors and secure their future. Sure it's a risky endeavor but I think it will work out great for them.
