WWE Developer Picks Up Lingerie Football License

by Matthew Kato on Jun 20, 2012 at 04:20 AM

Apparently EA Sports doesn't have the monopoly on football games after all. WWE series developer Yuke's in Japan has snatched up the license for the Lingerie Football League.

The developer does not have a publisher for the title (free advice to WWE publisher THQ: This is not the kind of game that will revitalize your business), but as a U.S. based-sport, you can bet Yuke's will try and find a stateside partner.

Since I don't want to put my own words to why Yuke's would want to do this, I'll let the studio's CEO Yukinori Taniguchi justify it himself. "We at Yuke's feel that there is incredible momentum building behind the LFL and that the sport is perfectly positioned to become the next big franchise in the gaming world," he said in a statement.
