The lights are on
By now you’ve probably paged through our Gears of War: Judgment cover story and dived into our month-long coverage. If you have any lingering questions, now is the time to ask. We’re having Rod Fergusson, Epic Games' director of production, record a special-edition podcast where he answers your queries on Judgment.
We’ll be recording the podcast very soon, and it’s up to readers like you to supply us with a host of interesting questions to keep Rod busy. Leave your questions in the comments below and hopefully we’ll get an answer for you!
What do you want to know about Gears of War: Judgment?
Email the author Tim Turi, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
Why did you decide to do a prequel instead of a new gears trilogy
Can you explain the idea behind changing the control scheme? How do you justify the change to fans who have played the first three games and now must deal with a new scheme? For new players, it's not much of an issue, but when I played at E3, the learning curve was pretty steep.
Also: any perks for returning players? I want to know my double re-up in Gears 3 is worth more than my own self-satisfaction. Thanks!
Why U no make game for ps3!?
are there going to be any significant weapon tweaks, or are the weapons to stay largely the same? Gears of war ones weapons were sluggish, but more powerful than gears 2 and 3 weapons, are you bringing the slow and powerful programming to the weapons back?
Will OverRun only be playable on certain maps, or will it be available on all maps in the same way Horde was in Gears of War 2 and 3?
How far EXACTLY is it after E-Day?
How long is the Single Player?
Will there be a beta?......and how can we get into the beta? Any plans for contests where fans can get into the game (Ex: names on tombstones, made into a random cog soldier, story on a collectible, background voice)?
What has the experience been working with People Can Fly?
I know they want this to be a gears game, but will there be some interesting weapons of the kind that People Can Fly are so well known for.
You stated that you wanted to bring another Gears game before the next generation hits.
Does that mean that there are evan more Gears of War games in planning process? Will there be Gears of War 4 maybe on the Xbox 720?
In comparison to other Gears of War games, how long does the campaign take to complete, how much effort did you put into story writing and how do you make us want to play the campaign over and over again?
I believe I heard in an interview that you wanted to make the gameplay for GoW: Judgment even faster? Why is that, because GoW3 seems to be fast enough already?
Gameplay wise, is there much difference between Gears 3 and Gears Judgement gameplay. Will it be like for example Halo 3 and Halo ODST if you know what I mean?
Will the game be Third-Person over the shoulder still or are we moving forward to an FPS view like Bulletstorm?
Will there be a beta like there was with Gears 3? If not can you send me an early copy of the game? XD (I just want to be able to test out the new control scheme before it comes out) Do you plan on adding new weapons or modifying any of the existing ones like you have done with the hammerburst every game thus far? What button am I going to be using for my executions since the y button is now used to switch weapons?
