The lights are on
If rumors are to be believed, an upcoming Mortal Kombat live-action reboot could be following the exploits of a supermarket employee who finds out he has super powers.
The rumor comes from website BloodyDisgusting.com, which says that the movie will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen, director of the recent Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short and the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, and Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.
Bloody Disgusting is saying, "The live-action reboot will follow a lowly unlucky supermarket employee who discovers that he has out of this world powers and must decide between good and evil, even though the evil side has helped him discover his true potential and who he really is."
I haven't played a lot of Mortal Kombat, admittedly, but I don't remember any of the fighters being supermarket employees. Mostly I remember the fighters of Mortal Kombat being monsters, ninjas, or cyborgs. I think there was a police officer at one time. Maybe it's him. Maybe he's the supermarket employee.

Oh God. It pains me to even read this.
And then Shia Lebeouf will end up playing him and then it'll end up as direct-to-video and then we'll all become disinterested and give up on Mortal Kombat movies.
What the hell? What happened to the awesome, semi-realistic tone of the Rebirth short? Go with that theme. It set things up nicely and included or referenced eight characters in 10 minutes. That was a great way to get the story up and running in a short time. What does a supermarket clerk have to do with anything? The only way I see that working is if it's Raiden again, like how he ended up in the body of an inmate in an asylum in Legacy. But that's been done so it doesn't work either!
And so the game to movie curse continues........
if this is true.....then all is lost
I'm not sure whether to laugh at the absurdity of this, or cry at the sheer silliness of this.
i didnt like the movies but i ennjoyed legacy
