The lights are on
Watch Dogs was one of E3's big surprises, and it looks like it may have caught the eye of more than just the video game industry.
Ubisoft has purchased a number of domain names, all different variations of WatchDogsMovie.com. This is by no means an announcement of a film based on the game that has not even released yet. Ubisoft is probably just purchasing the domains as a, 'just in case Watch Dogs becomes a run-a-way success' preemptive measure.

Even though the Resident Evil Movies aren't completely accurate portes, I still enjoyed them. There have been alot of sequels too, so movie games aren't all terrible.
I don't think they'd have plans to make a movie, especially not this early on. They're probably buying them as a preventive measure against over-hyped fans or anyone else taking up the domain name to put up they're own fake Watch Dogs fan made trailer or short film. Companies do this all the time with no intentions of actually doing anything with it. Disney is a prime example of this in the way that they have bought every possible domain name that refers to a porn based Disney site.
i agree it is probs for good measure and from what i saw it's good material for a movie whatever i just want i 2012 release date (i can dream cant i)
It basically costs pocket change to register domains, so why not err on the side of caution? Watch Dogs does look quite promising
Watch Dogs looks promising, but I prefer playing the game.
dude i'd be game. and I don't think it's cocky, I would want to protect my IP
It's a smart move, Watch Dogs does look promising. I hope it is a success.
this game looks just amazing it will be a 9 or higher
Quick! Ruin your franchise before it has a chance!
Just in case? You're kidding me, right Ubisoft? This game is going to be fantastic.
Natch, they know Hollywood is out of original ideas.
Take that Ebert.
what i thought it was already a movie! but it sounds to good to be true a new ip in a sea of sequels
Well it does sound like it can be a good movie...good plot
Hope they do make a movie.
The Last of Us, Watch Dogs, The Unfinished Swan... you can't say the video game industry isn't getting more creative and unique and is just making new sequels or prequels.
This game looked freaking awesome, I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Yes but can we at least get one or three decent video game movies first. Then again the expendables was basically a Modern Warfare flick.
