The lights are on
Hironobu Sakaguchi, better known as the man who created Final Fantasy, revealed a screenshot for his next game, Party Wave.
It's an iOS game, about surfing on rainbows, if the image above is any indication. Sakaguchi said that after finishing The Last Story, he was planning on moving into iOS game development, and this is his first project since making that proclamation.

Well the surfing part makes sense since he loves to surf, and the production costs of iOS is much smaller than what he usually makes so in this climate its understandable. And regarding talent like his, well he is too expensive and well known to be able to employ then eff off for loser publishers who know that he only creates what he loves and not what "marketing" figures say he should. Hey if it does well, im sure he will use the profits to create another AAA game. Lets see how it goes.
Jumping onto the casual gaming bandwagon I see. That's a shame.
Okay. I don't have iOS, nor have I ever been interested in spending time and money on it's games. So I don't approve.
I suppose if I were to look at this from a more understanding point... I still don't approve. Sakaguchi has made some brilliant games. If he wants a break to throw out some silly ideas on iOS, he's earned that. My main concern here, is that we lose one of the big players in JRPG's on consoles, to get surfing rainbows. That's not cool.
It should be said that he is making few another ios games. One of those games is about his arsenic alien creation.

A new generation of game developer is going to have to bring the world out of this dumbing down of games aka iOS. A legendary creator like Sakaguchi-san wasting his valuable time making apps is quite sad, especially seeing where his earlier creations have headed. Looks like I need to be "jebus" and save you all

I remember when that used to mean something...
What this man has done in his lifetime, game-wise, he deserves a god d*mn Emmy. Look at his list of video game contributions and I dare you to not to be impressed. An IOS game? So what? Am I interested? Nope. Do I care? Nope. He's earned the right to try different genres. No matter what, he's amazing. Instead of crying about what he's doing, let's celebrate what he's done.
Rainbows? This seems like something Kirby would do.
Hironobu Sakaguchi noooooooooooo. You're wasting your time and your talent. It's a sad sad day for gaming.
