The lights are on
We had heard rumors about the title of the game being The Stick of Truth, and now that has been confirmed. The game also has a release date of March 5, as long as Trey Parker and Matt Stone are able to pull off the same last second magic they are able to with their show.
A trailer was shown offering gameplay (which looks identical to the show), and some hints at what the story will be about. Apparently something needs to be undone, according to commentary from Eric Cartmen, and the only person who can do it is the new kid who just moved into town. The new kid has a power that Cartmen, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny have yet to understand.
The trailer shows small scale battles with Jesus, crab people, and Mr. Slave, along with what appeared to be a gigantic war containing hundreds of characters. The trailer also showed a quick collection of different characters that can be created, giving some insight into the creation system.
The game is "better with Kinect," which will apparently allow you to insult Cartmen, and he will respond. There will also be a few exclusive pre-order bonuses for Xbox 360 that will include new characters and attacks with references to the show, among other things. Future DLC will also be a timed exclusive for Xbox 360.
After the trailer concluded, Matt Stone and Trey Parker appeared onstage. They began with a quick joke asking the crowd if they have ever wanted to connect their tablet to their computer to their oven, all from inside their refrigerator. They said they’re not doing that; they’re just making a South Park game.
Parker and Stone said they only wanted to do a South Park game if they could make you feel like you are in an episode of the show and how, after extensive work with Obisidian, they were able to nail it down. They also discussed how making the game was the first time they ever had to map out South Park.
They ended their section of the show by saying that work on the game is proceeding just as work does on the show, which means they are going to be working on the game down to the last second, and they had to leave the press conference to get back to work.

i can't wait for this. looks amazing.
Can't wait for this game! I hope it will have some co-op though.
Please don't suck....
This announcement was the best out of the entire show. There were genuine laughs.
I'm so ready for this game, the video dazzled me.
Sounds fun. Kind of a silly title though. But... it is South Park haha
The new footage was classic South Park, the game is looking better and better. The only thing that sucks is having to wait until March 5th to play it.
Looks amazing, Obsidian is a top tier developer.
Should be a fun game
Thank you Trey for taking the piss out of the Microsoft press conference whilst IN the actual conference: genius.
Put a smile on my face so cant wait for it.
Highlight of the MS presser for me. In all honesty, Tomb Raider probably would have been if I hadn't already seen the trailer last week.
I want to play this NOW! I was hoping for a demo, that would of been funny to see those guys playing it and to see their created characters.
