The lights are on
The rumors were true. Lucasfilm today announced Star Wars 1313, a new, internally developed game in the Star Wars series. Described as a "third person cinematic action adventure," players take control of an unnamed bounty hunter as they explore the depths of the Coruscant underworld.
“We’re excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing,” said Paul Meegan, President, LucasArts. “Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself.”
Here's a rundown of the game's plot:
Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.
This actually doesn't sound bad. I've always though it would be cool to see a bit more of Coruscant. Mostly in the animated series or movies only the top layer, bars, and alleys are shown but hopefully this will show the many layers that it has.
An interesting change of pace for star wars.
Batman in space!
Very cool idea
I've always wanted a Mature Star Wars game, hopefully they can pull this off.
I'm just wondering about the "cinematic" part of the genre...
Sounds interesting to say the least
Battlefront 3 :(
Kinda sounds like Star Wars with the latest Batman gameplay.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hopefully this pays off for LucasArts because they need to step up their games lately.
Could be interesting. But, i hope the OTHER game they're working on is Battlefront 3. At this rate though, I just think Lucas Arts hates making money.
it seems like an attempt at a reboot, but not necessarily a reboot, or battlefront, with the whole 3rd person shooter, cinematic, fast paced, etc. definitely want to hear more about this one.
So, Uncharted... but Star Wars?
Sounds like it has potential. Here's hoping for the best.
Awesome! Now I totally cannot wait for E3.
This sounds awesome. Seems like a good plot to me, not to mention the picture looks awesome as well. This years E3 is getting better and better by the day.
Least it sounds fun!
