The lights are on
We hear about the supposed negative effects of video games often, but the Internet's Frugal Dad has put together an interesting info-graphic outlining a number of good things that video games have done for us.
Click the image above to see the full graphic to learn how video games have helped the treatment of severe burns, and 76% of couples claim that video games have had a positive effect of their marriages, among a number of other cited facts.

I play Halo quite a bit and am very disorganized - probably because I play for more than 21 hours a week.
The most important ones have to be fast critical thinking and decision making. Next to that are therapeutic results.
You see grandmother, is not bad is good! thanks to Kyle Hilliard for bringing it up! :)!

It would be far less time/energy intensive to write a list about the things that are bad about video games.
It's nice to see more people speaking about the positive aspects of gaming. If you like this kind of advocacy, I would suggest reading Jane McGonigal's book "Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World"--it's been a huge part of my experience as a video game researcher. Also check out James Gee's research--he's essentially been the pioneer of game studies. Marc Prensky also does some cool stuff about what it means to be a "digital native" in this era and how games are important to our lives. There are countless others if you want more experts to check out. Anyway, I could go on and on about this, but thanks for sharing, Game Informer.
Are these facts actually true? I'm unsure on whether or not this is a spoof.
I game more than 21 hours a week...
Apparently someone forgot to send my eyes the memo about games improving eyesight.
It's about time an article was published like this, but Fox News will never report about this though.
Im bookmarking this to prove games a good
He forgot to mention probably the most important positive result of video gaming; preparing us for the inevitable Zombie apocalypse. Who's house you going to run to? The guy that's sunk 20 hours a week into mowing down the living impaired, or that obnoxious metrosexual yuppie down the street sipping ginseng and listening to Mozart? That's right people, come on in, I think there might be a little room left in the basement with the rest of em. I'll be back after I clear the playground of those pesky brain biters. While I'm gone, please pick up the controller and educate yourself. We could always use another gun.
I been a gamer ever since I was 5. I always have good thoughts about video games.
