  • I knew video games weren't evil. Now, any time someone says they're ruining our youth, I'll just point at this.

Edit: Oh, hey! My first first. Yippee.
  • While this talked about direct brain effects. They forgot the fact that some Video Games have changed people's lives because they had a strong morale message. So they have the same good things as other mediums and much more.

  • Awesome.
  • Another fact about games is that they are FUN!

  • Good to see some positive things.

  • Glad to see something like this. It really shows some of the positive effects of video games. Not to mention they're pretty damn fun.

I'm also glad they put in that last part about playing in moderation. It's essential to balance out your life with other things that can also help improve you in other ways. Admittedly, I'm still trying to find that balance, but it helps knowing your favorite hobby can have some positive effects.

  • So if I ever need a surgery I better make sure my surgeon is a gamer... unless he plays Fruit Ninja, then I'm F'd. XD
  • And now to spread the word

  • this is pretty cool...im glad to be a gamer but also keep it in moderation...

  • Its also important to note that most games help develop critical thinking skills.

  • Patient: I'm depressed and I wanna kill myself Doctor: Take this PC and here is a copy of Half Life 1 and 2 Patient: Video games? Yeah sure okay. *3months later* Patient: Doc, these games are great! I can't WAIT until 3 comes out! Doctor: Mission accomplished :)
  • Interesting.

  • I did a research paper on the positive effects of video games a couple years ago. This guy nailed it. Actually, there are some things he didn't even find. Something interesting I found was that females are more positively effected than males when playing action/shooter games. Females who regularly played action/shooters scored much higher on tests (especially in the field of engineering) than males or females who didn't play.
  • Hmm, looks like I need to cut back from my 40 hours a week for gaming sessions. But I can't help it... nothing better to do on a night after work (I live too far from friends to go out - far as in a couple states away).
  • Always good to see the good things.

  • Something like this is the perfect retaliation to that article on CNN that said that porn and games are synonymous!
  • Haha!!! Take that SOPA!!!!!!!! Sorry, I just wanted to troll SOPA. But I'm glad that video games are amazing. Speaking of SOPA, *Inserts trolling on SOPA*.
  • Also, it keeps the geeks off the streets. :|

    :P

  • actually also call of duty and battlefield could help soldiers in training and learning new tactics
