E3 Schedule Accidentally Reveals Need For Speed: Most Wanted

An E3 booth schedule reveals that EA will be showing off a new Need For Speed at this year’s E3.

EA previously announced that a new Need for Speed game was in the works, but we didn’t know the name of the game until now. According to IGN, Twitch TV ruined the surprise by sending out a E3 booth schedule that listed the game's new title.

EA's press conference takes place on Monday, June 4th at 1:00 p.m. PST. Stay posted to Game Informer during E3 for more gaming news.

  • Ahwww, way to ruin the fun, Twitchy.

  • Hmm, I'm not sure how to take this, I mean the last one..........

  • All Right! Most Wanted was my favorite racing game, and if Criterion is the developer that will be even better. Hopefully it rocks!

  • I feel like this is the 10th game to bear the "Most Wanted" subtitle in EA's Need for Speed line. At any rate, I don't care. There are a million so-called "arcadey" racers whose handling models feel like NFS; sluggish and heavy. Either drift around a turn or slow down; that's not arcadey. If I wanted to play that kind of thing, I'd stick to Split/Second, Ridge Racer Unbounded or what-have-you. C'mon EA; let Criterion bring back BURNOUT! Let Need for Speed die for a few years. It's been going yearly since Need for Speed Underground on the PS2. Hasn't this franchise "Tony Hawk'd itself" yet?
  • If this another Most Wanted I'm adding that to the list of games I'm getting (which has gotten quite large). The first Most Wanted was one of the games the first got me "hardcore" into gaming.
  • Oops.

  • I loved The Run and Hot Pursuit so I look forward to this with eagerness!

  • Was the previous NFS Most Wanted the one with the BMW, or was that NFS Carbon¿ I remember one of the others having a Black Edition or something, and having to get pink slips. It's been ages since I've really enjoyed an NFS game, the one I really played the most, was NFS Underground 2 on the PC.
  • I'm wondering if this will be an HD re-release, or Most Wanted 2?
  • Umm can anyone else say HALLELUJAH!? I mean, it's not Underground 3 unfortunately BUT most everyone will agree with me that Most Wanted was No.2 in the series :D
  • You can't reboot a franchise from the same console generation as the original! Unless it is a sequel. But those usually have numbers in the title
  • Finally!!! Great news that they are bringing back Most Wanted, all they need to bring back is Underground then I would be a happy camper, but my question about this is, who is gonna be the developer? Black Box or Criterion?
  • Criterion did Hot Pursuit justice and The Run was ok but I am sure they can make Most Wanted (which I believe is one of the best racing games to date) really good.

Edit: I hope Criterion does this one. I don't know which developer (if there is a different one) would take the reigns.
  • I think you mean "accidentally"

  • Most wanted was by far my favorite Need For Speed game, even if I did have it on gamecube and it looked like crap

  • Need For Speed is absolutely killing itself..I mean, the games aren't THAT bad,but they haven't really improved and yearly releases apparently aren't helping if that's what they're trying to do...

  • I was/am a fan of the Shift series. I'd like to see more races with German tracks. Those r the best for speeding. LOL! They can do WITHOUT the Japanese tracks, I absolutely HATE those, ughh!
  • That's good news because I'm a huge fan of need for speed.

  • I really liked the first Most Wanted game, hopefully this one will be just as good.
