Analysts: GTA V Should Be Out By April

by Matthew Kato on May 23, 2012 at 04:15 AM

Neither Rockstar nor its parent company Take-Two Interactive have announced an official release date for Grand Theft Auto V, but some industry analysts aren't sweating it.

Yesterday Take-Two announced its latest financials, and by reading those tea leaves, Sterne Agee's Arvind Bhatia, Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter, and other analysts believe that Grand Theft Auto is on track to come out before the end of Take-Two's fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2013.

The theory is that Take-Two's fiscal guidance is so large that this wouldn't be possible without a title as big as GTA V. Although Take-Two has games like Borderlands 2 and BioShock Infinite coming out, nothing sells like a new GTA game.

We'd love it if the game came out this fall, like many previous installments in the series have, but we're not putting any money on that timeline.
