The lights are on
The 2K Marin-developed XCOM shooter has been delayed another whole year. The game isn't scheduled to ship until April 2013 at the earliest.
Take-Two announced today XCOM was pushed back into the company's 2014 fiscal year, which begins on April 1, 2013 and ends March 31, 2014.
A company spokesperson was unable to provide more detail behind the game's constant delays.
The publisher announced this morning an October 9 release date for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the strategy game developed by Firaxis.
UGH! Again!? =(
This game looked mediocre when I saw it in action; bland shooter mechanics, lackluster graphics. This new delay makes it even less appealing. I'd rather spend my money on XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
'This is not the XCOM game you're looking for.'
From what I've seen of the game, it appears to be pretty mediocre.
more delays :|
Aww boo. I want this freakin' game. At least the strategy game is coming later this year.
Thankfully this is the one I'm not too interested in, but it's still too bad. A game being delayed isn't a big deal usually, but to be delayed an entire year doesn't happen very often. From the last I saw of the game, it seemed to be moving along fine. I wonder what's going on to cause such a big delay.
I'm not surprised at this one bit. I haven't heard much of this game after the first delay.
Wasn't this game announced before the other XCOM game? Another delay can't be good.
Damn it, I'm just as eager to play this squad tactical shooter as I am to play the more recently announced turn based more faithful remake. I hope this isn't in trouble because as a shooter, it really was looking pretty fantastic compared to all the crappy CoD clones out there.
All these delays cannot bode well for the team. Unfortunately so, as their work on Bioshock 2 was amazing, considering they had the monumental task of recreating the greatness of the original they did a great job, especially with the Minerva's Den DLC, which was perhaps even more engrossing than the main game. So the team has great talent and I continue to be excited for this, but these delays are starting to worry me. :(
Another delay? Whatever, the game didn't look that good (Enemy Unknown looks more classic). Anyways, I'm not getting Enemy Unknown due to Dishonored and AC III coming out in the same month.
I might try out XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but I'm not interested at all in the XCom shooter.
Man, Xcom is coming back
