The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim On Demand

You can now buy a digital copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim through Xbox Live Games on Demand.

Downloading Skyrim will still cost the same as the current price as the retail version: $59.99. Bethesda recently announced the name of the upcoming download content Dawnguard, which we'll likely get new details on at E3 next month.

The content will come to Xbox 360 first before PlayStation 3 and PC.

  • Firstest!
  • hmmm... Nice.

  • ...um..... okay.

  • You realize Batman Arkham City, which came out a month before Skyrim, will have all of its DLC's out before Skyrim has its first one out?
  • Why would you ever want to download it for the same exact price?
  • Ugh I bought physical . I recommend you do the same if only for the map.
  • Wow. That's a big download. Plus you got to download the updates, so... WoW. Lol, u c what i did thr?
  • Daz a big download....
  • This and reckoning scratched my itch for the genre. Dragon's dogma is making break out in hives.
  • Pointless seeing as there's still plenty of retail copies on shelves.

  • This is a good purchase if you have Microsoft points burning a hole in your account. I am still chipping away at that massive game.
  • Careful, it might use all of your eight gig HDD.

  • Good, I guess.. It will probably take forever to dowload and will fill up hard drives quite a bit, so I don't see an advantage to buying it over XBL if it is the exact same price as retail. And are you guys going to use that same picture for every single Skyrim-related article that doesn't come with its own related photo? lol
  • I actually like downloadable games but I don't really see the point when they are the same price and have nothing more to offer. I still need to get this game but I figure if I wait I can get the GOTY edition,

  • This game is so addicting. I can't stop playing it. For the people who decide to download, instead of purchasing the physical copy, have one helluva download to get ready for. That game is massive!
  • I have a PS3 version of the game - waited to get it until the 1.5 patch came out fixing most of the PS3s problems.  Haven't found it to be too glitchy - Sacred 2 was MUCH worse.

I'm glad the DLC is coming out on the 360 first.  This way, by the time it's out for the PS3, all the bugs will be worked out!!

  • I don't know how, but Bethesda managed to make this game just under 4 GB for the Xbox 360. It has so much more content than most of my other games, but it's probably the smallest one.

  • Another step closer to the totalitarian method of going all digital. Thanks, Microsoft, you're killing the game industry.
  • Mother wouldn't have wanted this!
