South Park: The Game Delayed To 2013

Originally scheduled for release sometime in 2012, THQ announced it has delayed the title to the first quarter of 2013.

The game is scheduled to ship during the publisher's fiscal fourth quarter, which begins January 1, 2013. A reason for the delay was not provided. The game is rumored to be called "South Park: The Stick of Truth."

  • Hope it's worth the wait!
  • Kind of not surprised but I'm looking forward to this game :(

  • Why not? All the cool kids are delaying their games right now.
  • Considering how packed the holiday release window is, it's not surprising to see another game move to 2013.

  • Not surprised at all. Good thing I don't like South Park so this doesn't bother me.
  • Awe bummer.

  • Bet this never happens
  • As long as it will make the game better I'm all for it.
  • This seems to be becoming quite the trend.
  • I think it's the best move for Bethesda, I hope this game is a hit and it earns that company the money it needs to stay alive and deliver more solid RPGs.
  • I knew this was going to happen.  Geez THQ!

  • Me thinks that things be looking rather grim for THQ.
  • Delay ALL the games until Q1 2013!
  • I'm totally ok with this.

  • Disappointed and relieved at the same time - looking forward to playing this but the extra polish time will do the game (and my gaming budget) some good.

  • Check the poll.

  • Nothing new here...

  • NOT ANOTHER ONE!

  • Good! Normally I'd be pissed, but it IS an Obsidian game. Besides Dungeon Siege III, those guys needed to polish up every game they ever shipped (particularly Alpha Protocol). Now, even though South Park is a less ambitious production than, say, Fallout New Vegas, it still should get some extra love from Obsidian, so they can polish it up. It SHOULD BE their Paper Mario, yeah? Hopefully, when it comes in 2013, it'll be bug-free. A bug free game is ALWAYS worth it. No one remembers a delay, unless you're Duke Nukem Forever or Final Fantasy Versus XIII and said delay is cartoonishly long and defines your whole production. NORMAL delays, people don't remember. But they sure remember a bad/flawed/janky/disappointing game. I'm PRETTY SURE Obsidian has learned this lesson by now...
