The lights are on
The rumors were true. Microsoft today confirmed a $99 subscription-based console available at its U.S. stores. In order to redeem the deal, you must bring the coupon seen here to a participating Microsoft store.
The deal requires customers to sign up for a 2-year subscription to Xbox Live Gold at $14.99 per month. The console is a 4GB Xbox 360 and includes Kinect.
Early termination fees apply, which you can read about here.

I would rather save up on an Xbox(and my friend just got his yesterday) than use this deal. Cheap now, but in the long run, expensive.
Only 4GB? No thanks. The only good thing about this deal is you get Kinect with it.
What... my mind can't handle this level of ridiculousness.
Well this is different and unexpected
If you multiply $15 by 24 months which is what it would be you got $360.
Xbox $360
Why would anyone even bother wasting their money on a new xbox when most likely the next-gen systems will come out in the next year.
so after 2 years you would have put $458.76+tax into a 4g system that will be obsolete by holiday 2013, most likely. microsoft has completely lost me on this one. i see no "deal" in this at all. just buy the $199 4g and get a generic HD or use memory sticks for saved games if you absolutely NEED to purchase an xbox at this moment.
FDR had a better deal than that.
Jeez, a cell-phone plan. They're trying to turn the 360 into Windows Phone 8 or something... :-/
hmm, not bad. I may actually check into this. Being on a budget myself. This seems like a decent deal. except for the 4gb hard drive. Oh well. Still, pretty cool idea
seems interesting...i would probobly buy one if i didnt already have one.
Pretty much you save $100 upfront but end up spending $400 over 2 years for the gold membership. This is why I don't have a gold acct and will stick with silver. I say save the money up and just buy a XBox720 when it comes out in 2 years.
