The lights are on
The rumors were true. Microsoft today confirmed a $99 subscription-based console available at its U.S. stores. In order to redeem the deal, you must bring the coupon seen here to a participating Microsoft store.
The deal requires customers to sign up for a 2-year subscription to Xbox Live Gold at $14.99 per month. The console is a 4GB Xbox 360 and includes Kinect.
Early termination fees apply, which you can read about here.

Craigslist?
credit check?!
indicated in the Contract Terms is the following;
"You authorize us to obtain information about your credit history from credit-reporting agencies at any time. You understand that a credit inquiry could adversely affect your credit rating. You authorize us to report your payment record to credit-reporting agencies."
So, before you can purchase this special deal they have to run you through a credit check. nice. save yourself the time and effect and just go get yourself the system without the deal. honestly in my opinion this "special offer" isn't going to be as big a deal as they expect. and they will have the pleasure of more pissed off parents and adults than they realise. oh well.. I got 2 already don't need another one thank goodness..
Being locked in with termination fees is a bad idea.
Oh Hell NO! the 3 month is less then that. do we still have the option to get the 4G with Kinect for $400? because i want that one not the $99 piece of sh!t
What a stupid idea. And some people will have fall for this. Very dumb Microsoft.
Isn't this the very cause of the financial crisis we just left behind?
Woah, those termination fews are insaneeee.
this is not a deal- this is a scam
this is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen
This is a really, really smart move marketing wise for Microsoft.
GARBAGE! just plain old GARBAGE.
So very not worth it. Just buy a refurbed one from GameStop or get one cheap online from eBay/Amazon like I did.
Annnnnnnd let the money grubbing commence!!!
Doesn't seem like a good deal. This deal would be much more better if they removed the Kinect and put in a 60GB HDD.
Who'd be buying this when new generation is opun us?
