The lights are on
Tony Hawk is riding back onto the console scene with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, and we won't have to wait much longer to get our hands on it. Hawk recently tweeted that the downloadable game will be dropping this June.
In the tweet, he thanked Joshua Tsui, Robomodo president (the studio behind Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD), for donating to a clean water charity and for supporting the Tony Hawk franchise. Then he revealed the June date, perhaps unofficially.
Of course, a lot can happen in the bizarre world of downloadable games, including game-delaying certification hangups. We're waiting to hear back from Activision on the date, and we'll let you know when we hear anything.
In the meantime, check out our preview on the game.

I'll pick this up... The old THPS games were a lot of fun
I'm super pumped for this game. When THPS and THPS2 came out, I spent hours in the pursuit of high scores and ultimate combos.
Looking froward to the multiplayer, great memories of the Tony Hawk series.
I wonder what my transition to playing this for the first time with an Xbox controller will be like. I played all but the very first Pro Skater on Playstation, the first one I played on N64. Regardless I will be getting this and loving every second of it just like I did when I was a child.
they should turn the tony hawk franchise into an online fps space shooter.
This is awesome, but man...where does the Hawk franchise go from here? Skateboarding isn't the earth shatteringly popular thing it was back when Tony Hawk 2/3 came out. And EA ran Skate into the ground with 3 games (4 if you count the Nintendo spinoffs) in two years. This is great for now, but can Tony Hawk ever be a major retail franchise again?
Whoooo happy it is finally dated. I'll be downloading this on the first day it is available.
Now the question will be, which game is more addictive, this or Trials Evolution. If the soundtrack for THPSHD is as good as the original and sequel, then I'll probably have to go with that. TE's soundtrack is horrible.
