The lights are on
Microsoft may have a controller in the works that can recognize the person holding it.
A recently discovered patent shows an Xbox 360 controller that can recognize a player, "using a hand-pressure signature." If it can remember who you are, then it may have some memory built into it. Microsoft similar interactivity with the Kinect, but personally, I have never been able to get it to recognize me, so I am skeptical about this new idea.
People often forget that the Wii remote has a little bit of storage capacity. The Wii remote won't recognize who you are just by touching it, but you can transport up to 10 Miis to another Wii console using the remote.

it would be pretty cool if you could sign in just by grabbing your remote
Sounds cool but I feel as if such a device is going to cost me a arm and a leg...
Pretty sweet, Microsoft! I hope this is the launch controller for the new Xbox too.
stupid idea another fail by xbox not surprice
Will it be as useless as the Kinect? Will it cost as much?
Interesting. I wonder why they plan to use this.
This seems like it would be more of a hassle than anything else. My friends and I share controllers/accounts all the time.
I just want some more buttons. Not a whole lot more, just a few.
Sweet! I've just received my free minecraft giftcode!

I think syncing controllers is already bad enough. there's no need for this
I dunno, could be fun.
hate hate hate hate hate everybody hate Microsoft ^^
Eh... I don't really see the point of this. Sure, if it worked, it could adjust multiple things based on who's playing. It could sign onto your account, change settings like difficulty, adjust brightness, etc, but nothing comes to mind that would really change the game. I suppose if you had 3 or more gamers using the controller, those alone would be a selling point. I almost never let people play my console, with my controller, by themselves. We always co-op, or they have their own system. It really wouldn't do anything for me.
My controller doesn't recognize me. Maybe I should squeeze harder.
