Saints Row: The Third – Enter The Dominatrix Announced

Remember THQ's April Fool's joke? it wasn't a joke at all. The publisher announced the standalone Saints Row: The Third expansion Enter The Dominatrix is really coming this fall.

Arriving on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for $29.99, this expansion adds "the most requested gameplay features" from the Saints Row community: freaking super powers.

“Faster than a speeding cyber jetbike, more powerful than a roided-out Luchadore, able to leap flying aircraft carriers in a single bound… That’s the power you’ll find inside the Dominatrix. Use it for good. Use it for evil. Use it for whatever you want. As always in Saints Row, it’s up to you,” said Danny Bilson, EVP of core games at THQ.

Enter The Dominatrix takes place after the events of Saints Row: The Third. Here's a quick rundown of the plot:

For centuries, alien warlord Zinyak has eyed Earth and its precious natural resources and females with a watchful eye. As he prepares an armada for invasion, he has only one worry: the Third Street Saints.Once a simple street gang from Stilwater, the Saints have evolved into a global empire, replete with bombastic TV advertising and tasteful consumer products, the kind of TV advertising and consumer products that would give any alien warlord pause. Clearly, the Saints are the biggest badasses on Earth.

Now, in order to prepare his forces for domination, Zinyak captures the leader of the Saints and imprisons him in an elaborate virtual reality simulation. This simulation program looks and feels like Steelport, but it is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. Here, you are a slave. Welcome… to the Dominatrix.

Expect to hear more about Enter The Dominatrix later this summer

  • hmmm paying half the pirce of the original just so I can get superpowers. No thanks
  • that's a amazing intro.
  • I love when lemons make my freckles stand out.
  • This better have a lot of content for that price!
  • I got the season pass and frankly I wasn't impressed with any of the dlc so far, so I don't see this one changing my mind either.

  • Staff
    YES!
  • I knew it! I jus.... Holy ***. Look at that price!...yeah I'll pass.
  • I really wonder, is there going to be any sexual references in the game to the title? I can't take the title seriously. Not that I've participated in such sexual acts, it's just that's what I associate the name with.
  • Am I the only one who thinks the alien part is just a bit over the top? Super powers on the other hand would be awesome
  • Hahah nice.

  • im mostly interested in the story.
  • TROLOLO.

The April Fools joke was that it wasn't actually an April Fools joke.

    Prankception.

    Well played Volition, well played.

  • Epic!!!

  • I am glad this is real :). For 30$ though it better kick ass and be long.

  • I'm pretty sure this will be fool of missions that are really boring activities that you never do more than once. Just like the original.
  • they're still milking this game with more DLC? 0.o i kinda dont regret trading it in, even though i played the ish outta it
  • Considering it's half the price of the actual game, I expect half a game's worth of content. I can buy full retail games on PSN for 19.95. I know THQ has hit hard times, but pricing their own fanbase out of DLC is going to make them less money, not more. Here's hoping they deliver a massive add-on that provides more content than their last three DLC releases combined. I bought the season pass, and at twenty bucks, it might have just eked by as worth it. I'll wait to hear what everyone else says after it's released before sinking money into this one.
  • WHAT??!!!!!  ROTFL!!!!!  Volition is off the chain.  I am being optimistic where THQ is not doing well financially this could be a shock for everyone and be Saints Row Amazing.  I love the fact the Saints Row is able to provide some insane game play enjoyment with making fun of the obvious.  I have never played a game laughing as hard as I have with this series.  There were many “WTF, I can not believe I am doing this” moments and that is no easy task to create in a game.

  • How much content comes with it. If I get 15+ hours you can count me in.
