Millions Stop Playing Draw Something

It seems that the level of entertainment players receive from Draw Something might be drawing pretty thin at this point.

Only a few months ago, Draw Something seemed like the hottest app on the market. Now, the Pictionary-like mobile app is loosing players by the millions. Zynga bought Draw Something creator OMGPOP for nearly $200 million in March, but according to BBC News, WebMediaBrands data suggests that almost five million daily users have abandoned the game over the past month.

I know I stopped playing, and went back to Infinity Blade II. What are you playing on your phone right now?

  • i still play the game and love it!! just wish they had more words for the free versions

  • I see what you did there Reeves

  • I'm playing "Call someone and have a conversation with them" it's a totally new thing some people are doing with phones these days.

  • Infinity Blade plug much?

  • Oh my gosh every mobile game that ever was has been horrible. They just lack the depth and playability of console or PC games.

  • I check every day, but all my friends stopped playing. I have three people who I play daily though.

  • the game is meh.

  • Dont have a smart phone to play these kinds of games yet.
  • Everyone should have expected this. This is how most of these throwaway apps are. They're like lottery tickets. You scratch them off - some of them win, but in the end you just throw them away and move to the next one.

    Good for Zynga though.
  • Well, I saw the decline in the trend within the short course of a month. Eventually people cheated with the game, found a cheap route, and just plain took forever. People were always complaining about it. Oh well, I knew it was foolish for Zynga to buy OMGPop when all they had was a two month fad.

  • Like all phone games: They can only go so far. Except for Angry Birds

  • I was about to download it and play it, but since the creator seemed to think he was the bee's knees-- the cat's pajamas, if you will-- I forwent that path to download an incredible game called Quell. Marvelous little puzzle game.

Perhaps his remarks spurned this exodus from the app, perhaps it was the lack of replayability, who's to say? I think the lesson we all needed to learn is clear: crap like this doesn't last.

    That is all.

  • I hated how people would nudge you the first chance they got. Deleted it after a week. Now I play Pocket Ninjas and more Infinity Blade II.

  • Infinity Blade II

  • this is the nature of ios games, plus zynga bought it

  • yeah I stopped playing it, went back to Baseball Superstars 2... AWESOME GAME!!!

  • I'm still playing Draw Something with a few people. Definitely not as often as before though.

  • I don't own a phone, but then again, I got no friends.

  • Never played im playing Mass Effect Infiltrator on my iphone :)
