GameStop Announces Modern Warfare 3 Bonus For Reserving Black Ops II

By pre-ordering Black Ops II early, you will gain access to Modern Warfare 3 perks.

You will also get a poster, but the more interesting pre-order bonus is the instantly redeemable prestige token for Modern Warfare 3 if you reserve Black Ops II by June 30, and are a PowerUp rewards member. GameStop has plans to announce additional pre-order bonuses as the release date of Black Ops II gets closer. The pre-order bonuses will be announced in waves, and depending in when you reserved the game will dictate what you bonuses you are able to access. If you reserve now, you get them all, but if you wait, you may only get the last few bonuses.

We posted all kinds of Black Ops II coverage yesterday, so click here to check out the launch trailer, and click here to read Dan Ryckert's first impressions of the single-player campaign.

  • Well geez, that sure is an incentive to get people playing. I wonder if all the perks and bonuses you get are just things you could have gotten if you played the game normally, anyway? Oh well, Black ops II looks to be like another big release for Activision.
  • wow that's pretty cool actually, I was going to pre-order anyway but now it feels like I'll get some instant gratification for doing so. Sweet!

  • Changing my Ghost Recon preorder to BO2 today anyways :D GS said to come back wed(today) to do it as they couldn't take preorders before today.

I have been sitting at 80 on the PS3 for a few days now as I can't decide what I want to take with me. So having 2 tokens will make that easy haha. Cool, good incentives!
  • Oh boy! I am so getting this!!!!1!1 I'm Super excited THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST GAME EVER!!
  • Why don't they have cool things for other games anymore? Not meaning the dumb prestige crap. Stupid Call of Duty.
  • someone needs to tell gamestop that their so called bonus stink and are most of the time extremely useless and can be forgotten in the game. if i wanna win perks etc, i will do it by playing the game and not reserving in a game from a company with shady practices...
  • Getting tired of this 'free candy' style of business big games like this are pulling.

  • Im probably going to pass off some of the bonuses to my boy. I was going to pre-order Black Ops 2 anyway, I just skipped out on MW3.
  • So I plan on getting this game, but its weird feeling almost forced to pre order right now so I don't miss out on this sweet stuff I'd like to have.
  • Mod
Given the trailer and campaign details, it's a good bet I'm getting this so it doesn't hurt to preorder now, even from GS. ; ) Plus you know they'll have midnight release and though I normally could care less, I'd consider it for this Treyarch title.
  • I usually don't preorder games months in advance but I will reserve this next time im in gamestop.

  • For everyone calling this a bad incentive -- pre-order, get the bonuses, and then pull your reserve after a day or so

  • Haha weird.  But cool, definitely cool.

  • I wasn't a fan of Call of Duty until Modern Warfare came around. Then, I proceeded to not like the game again (WaW,MW2,BO,and MW3), but it was them brining the series into new setting that made me like MW1, maybe I will like this title? Who knows. Maybe my distaste for the series is to sour by now.
  • Prestige is the dumbest feature in the history of video games. Hey, I got a new gamercard decoration because I erased my progress eleven times. That is essentially what you get out of it. I think there should be a Prestige store where you spend the credits you get from Prestiging on rare weapons, perks, etc. that are only available in that store. Actually, scratch that. I hate what Call of Duty has become and I don't want them to have my sweet ideas.
  • So will there be like a special edition like usual, if so ordering it now would mess up my intention of getting the special edition because it is unannounced as of yet.

  • makes sense i guess since MW3 is still pretty new. They still come out with new games wayyy too often.

  • That's actually a pretty creative pre order bonus. I used to play alot of Call of Duty and I remember how pointless, yet somehow necessary prestige was. However, I don't own Modern Warfare 3 and I probably won't get Black Ops II so I'm not interested in this.

  • I might buy Blops2, but it's definitely not a preorder for me. I'm not a shooter fan buy any means, so this would be the first CoD for me since CoD3. I mean, if i pick up Black Ops, it'll be like a month after it releases while it's on sale or something.
