Hoping for a Half-Life 3 reveal at E3? Keep dreaming. Valve said it has no announcements planned this coming June.
Valvetime.net was first to receive the confirmation via a purported e-mail exchange with president Gabe Newell, who said, "We're not announcing anything. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3." He continued, "We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS: Go, Dota 2, 10 UI',...).
Valve later confirmed independently to IGN it will not be making any new announcements at E3.
There's always next year, right?

I knew Valve's better days are gone the moment i saw same HL2 Episode 1 announced.
I'm not really surprised by this. Valve will do things on Valve-time. Thankfully the part of my brain devoted to hoping for Half-Life 3 info doesn't care about logic and still thinks there could be an announcement any day now!
A huge, unschedule surprise can't be ruled out, though. . .
Umm last year there wasn't suppose to be an announcement from David Jaffe involving twisted metal. I seem to remember people being happy at the end of sony's conference about a certain game. no reason to give up hope yet.

anyways hopefully we see Half Life3 as a launch title for next gen consoles, or maybe the only reason why we haven't heard of it yet is because there is no computer that could possible ever run Half Life3
That's because Valve can't count the 3. They're more likely to make a new series than anything.
