Millions Stop Playing Draw Something

It seems that the level of entertainment players receive from Draw Something might be drawing pretty thin at this point.

Only a few months ago, Draw Something seemed like the hottest app on the market. Now, the Pictionary-like mobile app is loosing players by the millions. Zynga bought Draw Something creator OMGPOP for nearly $200 million in March, but according to BBC News, WebMediaBrands data suggests that almost five million daily users have abandoned the game over the past month.

I know I stopped playing, and went back to Infinity Blade II. What are you playing on your phone right now?

  • Despite having a Windows Phone connected to my Live account, I almost never play games on it.

I own an actual portable game system (3DS, among others), so I don't need to play phone games.  I understand the appeal, but I have no interest.

  • Spellsword and 7 Little Words are my phones top apps right now

  • Uhhh, BrickBreaker

  • We need someone to investigate this terrible epidemic.

  • Social games are just a fad anyways not like it matters
  • Playing Wordament on my Windows Phone. That game is friggin addicting.

  • This is the story of every popular app-game. One day they are praised to the skies and the next day nobody cares. I don't have the statistics or anything, but it was the same with Temple Run and Word Feud. They were just fads.

Angry Birds may be the exception though.

  • I've discovered Tiny Station, and that's been consuming a lot of my mobile gaming time.  Though I still play play Draw Something occasionally.

  • Brandnew Boy, the OTHER amazing action game based on unreal engine 3

  • I stopped playing too, I'm now playing all the awesome JRPG's on the App Store, like Zenonia.

  • Without any sort of competition in Draw Something, it's no surprise that everyone stopped playing.

  • Exactly - no real competition.. Plus the same words really ruined it, the kinda tried to force a purchase rather than the other Zynga word games that are constantly fun and free.

Tired of someone drawing a crap picture for 5 seconds then writing the word. Fun to play with close buddies once in a while.

I'm playing Forces of War (slowed down a bit, building up an army/kinda losing interest). Also, all the Zynga word games even though cheating is rampant is ruins the game. Would like to play Infinity Blade or whatever but I can't really focus that intensely at work - which is the only time I use my games on the phone because I actually use consoles
  • It depends. Some days I play classics like Super Mario World. Some days I feel like some Earthworm Jim. And, on occasion, Vectorman.

Even better when you have an actual controller to use on your phone.

  • Eff Zynga.  Die, jerks!

  • Jetpack Joyride is the best thing that ever happened to the iphone! XD

  • "loosing" ≠ "losing"

    come on now.

  • When playing random (or real life friends) players, its nothing but loathsome  drawings , and half the time they just write out the word. Those two things are were the problems are, no motivation to draw "well" , no repercussion for cheating. - - play words with friends 90%, and draw something 10%.

  • Yeah they stopped cuz of all the repeat words. After two days u get Tue same words over and over and over and over again.

  • I stopped as well. Everyone got overloaded and overwhelmed at my college

  • Yeah, it got old pretty fast.  Luckily I stumbled across The 7th Guest yesterday.  Some good ole fashioned point and click adventuring.
