The lights are on
Hoping for a Half-Life 3 reveal at E3? Keep dreaming. Valve said it has no announcements planned this coming June.
Valvetime.net was first to receive the confirmation via a purported e-mail exchange with president Gabe Newell, who said, "We're not announcing anything. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3." He continued, "We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS: Go, Dota 2, 10 UI',...).
Valve later confirmed independently to IGN it will not be making any new announcements at E3.
There's always next year, right?
LIES!
Obviously valve wont mention and new engine or hl3 at e3. Half life 3 will run on a more sophisticated version of the source engine and it just wouldnt make sense to have cs go come out along side hl3. Personally I think the wait is epic...years have gone by but when the next installment of the half life series comes out ill be getting it. People have forgot that half life sets the bar when it comes to fps games...not much has changed since hl2 came out....generic replicas mostly. pretty sure gabe can count to 3 btw, hes got millions of dollars more than any of us afterall.
I'm not really surprised about this. I wasn't expecting anything new from Valve this E3. Maybe one of these days, but until then I'm satisfied with what they have.
No Half-Life 3? I'm gonna go die now. Mega fail. Unless Valve's f'n with us. Maybe.
that really sucks..
Figures, and this would be the time to talk about DOTA 2 and promote a release time for it. Unless they want to just keep it in beta forever. And I'd love to find the people at IGN and Joystiq that had 'inside' information about a Half-Life 3 announcement. Total BS!
*insert gabe newell picture here*
didn't they say that the year portal 2 was announced?
Holy crap VALVe, your fans are planning to present up on you! I understand I've, I been wishing for 50-Existence and Portal three or more for a long time!
bitches
Lame Valve, lame
ok
Patience is a virtue but virtues are not limitless.
I wonder when 'Half Life' will cease to mean anything to gamers besides the old timers like myself.
Not announcing doesn't really mean not making anything. They are a very unique company and have unique strategies. Plus they never say much anyway, and I think that's okay. Whatever comes next will be that much more of a cool surprise.
Oh Valve...
Half-Life 3 can suck it, where is the Left 4 dead sequel?
