Angry Birds Space Downloaded More Than 50 Million Times

Fans can't get enough of the angry avians.

It took only 35 days for Angry Birds Space to cross the 50 million download threshold, which Rovio says makes it the fastest growing mobile game to date.

That's nearly two weeks faster than OMGPOP's Draw Something, the previous trendsetter. But for Rovio, this isn't all about the numbers.

"While numbers like this certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds, for us the main goal is to keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy," Rovio said on its blog.

If you haven't succumbed to the allure of the Angry Birds yet, you can download the title on iOS, Android, Mac, or PC. To read what we thought about the latest game in the bird-flinging series, check out our review.

  • WOW.

  • O.o

  • Kinda sad because there are other games exactly like Angry birds that came out before angry birds. Game just got lucky I guess.

  • I'm proud to say I didn't.
  • Meh.

  • Somewhere in that 50 million is my purchase....I must find it.

  • Now if they made it free...

  • WOW.  Good for them!

  • congrats you guys....you deserve it

  • I bought it, but I immediately regret it.

  • 50 million downloads. Wow

  • I don't know why but angry birds makes me angry.

  • I don't wish the company any harm, but the entire franchise doesn't deserve the recognition it has gotten. Angry Birds games are nothing more than simplified flash-games that are actually worse than similar games that are FREE.
  • I'm really enjoying this game. The ability to see your bird's trajectory is the only thing that annoyed me with previous entries. Perhaps rovio will bring this ability to the old games via update? Please?!

  • when you buy it aren't you only getting the first quarter of the game then you have to pay for the rest?

  • Yep I am one of those 50 million.  Well actually I'm two of them one for my Android one for my IPad.

  • Good for them.

  • thats not a big deal since Android offers it for free, any game free is going to get impressive numbers...just sayin'

  • Now, maybe with all that extra money for production, they can make a good game.

  • I guess this is what you get when you introduce the general populace to flash games. It's a shame they didn't know how to use a computer 10 years ago, they could have been enjoying better games, for free.
