Cave Johnson Returns In Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative Video

Portal 2's test chamber editor will be available on May 8, and Valve put together a video to remind everyone that it's coming soon.

J.K. Simmons returns to offer his Cave Johnson voice over explaining how it all works, and it is unsurprisingly hilarious. I could watch a 90-minute feature of videos like this.

Unfortunately, the editor has only been announced for PC.

  • Never touched portal 2. But I suspect I'll be sinking hours into this.
  • "Unfortunately, the editor has only been announced for PC."

    Surprise, surprise.

  • I wish Cave was the narrator for every game. . .

  • please let me add a mantis man, just one PLEASE!

  • Wait, so that means that infinite Earths exist in the Half Life universe?

And they had a way to get to them since at least the 60s?

Does that mean there's a Octopus Gordon Freeman out there?
  • At 1:12, at the top, you can see one of the guy's family jewels.

  • i wish it was for 360 and ps3 too.... :(

  • 1:12, bottom right, is that guy watching meet the Pyro?
  • only confirmed for pc?!!! we can already edit that! argh... dreams dashed... valve should know damn well we want it on consoles

  • I think I thought of this concept last year when I was playing portal 2.

  • What!!???!!! This is only going to be available for PC??!!?? Ever since you mentioned this I've been absolutely counting the days, and now you spring this whole, "Only for PC", thing on us? Man... You should've really mentioned that in the first article. Now I'm gonna have to go back to using construction paper, Dixie cups, and moon dust. Curse you GI. My mantis-men have been informed of your location and are in route.
  • "Yes, YOU ...... get back to work"

  • "Yes, YOU ...... get back to work"

  • I got this for ps3... good thing they gave us a free steam version too!

  • 'Unfortunately, the editor has only been announced for PC."

    ....and Mac.

  • I'm with Kyle Hilliard on this one, I too could watch these videos for hours.  Valve employs some of the most talented writers in the industry, and having talent like J.K. Simmons and Stephen Merchant (in the game, of course) doesn't hurt either.

  • Octodad? Is that you?

  • I can't wait to see what people do with this. Custom campaigns and such. I know I can't do these kinds of things.

  • I would be fine with it not coming to consoles as long as the PC creators can share the levels with console players so that I can enjoy the fruits of their labor.
