Latest Wave Of Battlefield 3 Map Assets Incoming

A new batch of maps is coming to Battlefield 3 this June, and EA and DICE have released another wave of screens and a trailer to shed light on the action. Donya Fortress is another of the Close Quarters maps, which put an emphasis on small-scale, high intensity encounters.

Take a look at the trailer below to see Donya Fortress in all its column-shattering, bookshelf-blasting glory. If you're curious to learn more about how these smaller maps play out, take a look at our in-depth preview. The maps are due out in June, with the PS3 getting them a week ahead of the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

  • Now that's a right proper map trailer. Let the game do the talking, no need for an announcer. Great looking tidbits... now we'll just have to see how gameplay flows in the real world.

  • for ps3 its probably gonna release june 5th and june 12th for 360 and pc

  • It's going to be so awesome!

  • I don't care if they are smaller maps, im excited anyway! and they look great, maybe i should get started on my shotgun training ^^ naaa, Rifle all the way!

  • This type of destructibility is what Battlefield 3 missed out on from launch. So excited to see it implemented into what looks to be a truly frenetic gameplay experience!

  • lol, why couldnt it come out next month?

  • No shotgun No shotgun and someones already thinking perfect map for my new shotgun

  • the maps look incredible, holo sight on the sniper... lulz

  • didn't microsoft have some kind of exclusivity rule or something of the sort. at least same day release so no dlc for you 360 owners lol

  • WOW that looks cool already cant wait

  • Whoa...these maps look very nice and I think will be a blast to play on.

  • I was skeptical when this was first announced, but I think these will actually be pretty fun.

  • I think Bf3 has a lot of big maps. It's nice to have the option of having small maps. I don't get why everybody so judgmental about it. The patch is not that bad and EA is nowhere near Activision's greed and whoring of titles year after year with the exception of sports titles. Just chill out. Don't like it? don't buy it. It's not like what you have to say is really making a difference. These game companies work on this *** 24/7. Trust me there's nothing you have to say that they don't know already especially since they all have testers that try changes and games before they reach our hands. Where all part of a social experiment. That's the only way to really try online play and how fluid it is. That's the only reason why they have patches. Its the only way they can make changes once the product is out. Before these next gen consoles they couldn't do that. You got stuck with whatever was on the game. There is no multi-player game out right now that we would've loved right out the box with no fixes. We would've complained and never picked it up again or until the next title comes out with "hopeful" changes.
  • NEW WEAPONS!

    So far, I saw the:

    Spas 12

    Mtar 21 (At the beginning)

    JNG 90

    ACW-R

Bolt Action that I couldn't identify

    AUG A3

  • I like my Battlefield maps huge, but Battlefield 3 also does close-quarters stuff really well.  It's no Halo, but it's on Call of Duty's level and is way better than Medal of Honor.

  • You 'variety' people irritate me.. there is already more small maps on bf3 compared to large.
  • About time. Playing on the same maps over and over is getting old.

  • how come ps3 gets it earlier...thats so gay.

  • The people who use the stupid USAS12 are gonna have fun.
