Konami Patching Up Silent Hill Games

Konami announced it's releasing new patches for Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill Downpour.

"Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, development teams are currently creating online patches for both games, which will fix the frame rate issues, the audio-synching in Silent Hill HD Collection, and the Auto-Save issues in Silent Hill Downpour," Konami said.

"Players have voiced their concerns, and solutions to these issues will be fixed and launched in the coming weeks."

The patches will be made available through Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Comments
  • this game is to scary to deserve a patch!
  • Maybe downpour won't be one of the worst in the series now?!?!?....yeah, didn't think so.
  • I heard there was a huge mist problem in the collection[not enough of it?]. Are they fixing that? I want the best jumping on point possible.
  • First time I hear of these bugs. Glad I waited with the SH HD Collection, because audio not in sync is a major no-no for me.
  • I hate to say this, because it may spark a war in the comments, I wish they could smoothen out the combat in Downpour
  • Maybe people will realize next time that some HD collections (Code Veronica,RE 4 and these) aren't really HD in the least and in Silent Hills case look worse than the PS2 versions. Instead of wasting money on so called remakes just buy the original and be much more satisfied. We shouldn't need to patch 10 year old games!
  • That's weird, I don't have those issues in my HD copy.
  • HD Collection is back on my 'to get' list! It sucks that there were such severe problems from launch but at least they're listening and working to fix them.

Anybody have any good experiences with Downpour? I really was looking forward to it but I've held off because of reviews and the fact that I can't spend $60 on every game that I want to get : /
  • YES! I was hoping for patches for Downpour, hope it fixes the frame rate stuttering, and the Homeless sidequest. Fixing the save system should be good too, it says saving when it should be saying loading most of the time.

Overall though, I thought Downpour was great, best in the series since the PS2 Silent Hill games imo.

As for the HD Collection, seems from what I've been hearing, the bugs only effect the PS3 version for some reason, and the 360 version works fine.

Sounds like I might wait to start my third playthrough of Downpour for the patch first.
  • This is very good.

  • Finally! Actually the bugs weren't that noticeable.
  • gooooood.....*shakes hands* gooooood

  • I haven't had any issues with the HD Collection. It's Downpour I'm having trouble with...

  • have'nt played my HD collection because of the framerate, but i finished Downpour but it too suffers from framerate issues.the patch will hopefully fix this.

  • I didn't have any issues with the HD collection, but I'll take the patches I suppose.

  • Uhhh.... that's strange, I didn't read anything in that statement about a fix for them screwing with the fog and making Silent Hill 2 like like crap.

  • Patches, wonderful!

  • Finally!

  • Fix the damn breathing in Silent Hill 2!!!!! It is soooo unnatural sounding. And the PS3  version of Silent Hill 3 is constant bullet time with more than one enemy in the room.

  • Hope the frame rate patch will also fix the game slowing down when you get an achievement.
