The lights are on
Could Activision be moving the next installment of the alternate-year Call of Duty from the past to the future? It looks as though we'll be parting with that tradition soon, if a teaser image and accompanying video on the game's official site is to be believed.
Details are scarce on callofduty.com, but they're slowly starting to emerge. The site is currently littered with monitors displaying a "coming soon" message. A few are filled in with static, however. If you click on one of those images, you're treated to a shot of a weaponized quadrotor drone, which links to the amusing FPS Russia video shown below.
As the host teases, the technology shown in the video is still 10 or 15 years away. He adds that it could be in the next Call of Duty game, however. Then we're treated to a series of demonstrations of the vehicle "in action." The vehicle, which is purportedly equipped with a100-round magazine and controlled with a tablet device, makes short work of a variety of targets.
We'll know more about the next Call of Duty when it's officially unveiled on May 1 during the NBA playoffs.

I hope its just black ops 2 in like the 90's or something...gulf war time period would be sick! some what modern but still in the past. But if it was like 2017 or just a few years from now, mason and houdson would be like in their 60's im confused.(or just have a whole differnt game all together)

Call of Duty is gonna turn into Battlefield style. I can see it coming. They're getting more and more desperate for crappy games. Come on Activision stop makin crappy sequels and maake remakes of the GOOD call of duty with mod tools :D XD
Just gotta make sure the protagonists all have plenty of beard, mohawk, and sunglasses. Also, screw perks, just give every one superpowers...wait...
I seem to recall the last CoD game taking place int eh near future too. And I used a tablet to control the gun on a chopper. What innovation.

Setting: Oakland in the '90s where everyone could say "*** the Police" and get away with it.
Near future huh? Even if it is Black Ops 2 I might want to get this. The only reason I've hated the Treyarch entries so far is that they take place in the past.
My only question is, is this a COD advertising tactic, or is this legit? I've watched a bunch of FPSRussia's other videos, and they all feature modern weapon technology. All the sudden this dude gets his hands on some crazy future drone thing? Suspicious. I'm going to have to go with 'suspect' on this one. Charlene is CG, and and his buddy is never going to lend him his car again.

As sad as this sounds, if it has zombies-Day one buy for me, COD zombies is one of my favorite games of all time (admittedly no that long)
