What's Happening

Weekend Warrior 04/20/12

The Witcher 2 finally made its way to consoles, so now we’re all finally figuring out why Adam was harping about it all last year. Also, Fez is fun.

Jeff Cork: I’ve been playing the Witcher 2 over the past few days, and I’m hoping to do a couple of marathon sessions this weekend. My main goal is to find Geralt a shirt. His back is a pretty nasty mess of scars and fresh wounds, and I’m getting less and less excited about looking at it. For a complete change of pace, I’m also going to try to fire up some Rock Band 3. It’s been more than a year since I last played it, and I’m curious to see if I’m still any good at expert-level guitar. My prediction: kind of.

Andy McNamara: I really want to play Witcher 2, but I'm still not done with Xenoblade Chronicles (which I am enjoying by the way), so I will continue to grind through Xeno. Otherwise, I have a couple bike rides planned, a multiplayer Gears of War 3 session on the schedule, and I'm sure I will take a couple breaks to continue my play through of Fez.

Ben Hanson: I want to keep making progress in Xenoblade but I fear the bottomless time-pit that is Trials Evolution. I downloaded the game last night and it consumed my soul. Other than those two, I have gone back to the remake of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and am still madly in love with it. Have a good weekend!

Matthew Kato: Going to be playing Trials Evolution this weekend. The only reason I probably won't be throwing my controller is that I don't have a backup.

Jeff Marchiafava: My game time this weekend will be devoted primarily to downloadable games, thanks to Fez and Trials Evolution. Both offer nice bite-sized gaming experiences, which I appreciate after coming off of Mass Effect 3. Especially if I jump into The Witcher 2 one of these days…

Kyle Hilliard: I finished Mass Effect 3 last weekend, so I can finally move on with my life. I have chosen Fez as my next endeavour, with maybe some Trials Evolution sprinkled in for good measure. I have also been thinking really hard about tackling The Witcher 2, as well. My wife has first dibs on that one though, so I will have to wait until she gets to the second disc, and then I can start playing on the first.

  • During my freetime from work, I'll be continuing my adventure through Witcher 2 (Xbox), or building grand castles and houses on Minecraft with  my friends.

  • I've been pouring lots of time into the Gears of War 3 multiplayer, but I plan starting Fez and Alan Wake this weekend.

  • Diablo III beta and replaying ME trilogy.

  • I'll be trying to push through Borderlands after getting half way through and then losing my save, three times.

  • I'm going to finish l.a noire once and for all and then some call of duty zombies

  • I'm gonna get the discounted "Mount and Blade" bundle pack on Steam and hopefully mod it to high heaven to improve what people say is an already really deep and enjoyable time-sink of a game.

  • gonna be messing around with Overgrowth and the editor for that game. Playing some Nexuiz beta. Some BF3 or skyrim or Hard reset or one of the games I haven't beaten yet (all of them). and definately soime SC:C Diniable Ops.

  • Witcher 2 EE and Diablo 3!

  • Super Mario Galaxy, GTA IV, Pushmo and I'm considering buying a 360 just so that I can play the recent downloadable titles like Fez and Trials.

  • Pokemon White EV training and waiting for the frickin tv repairman to come so I can play Xbox 360!

  • Asuras Wrath, Lost Odyssey, and Dragon Quest 9. I think Dragon Quest 9 has been on my list for the past two months.

  • Marathon Witcher 2!!

  • So many for me to choose from. Started on The Witcher 2 last night and I want to keep playing it; however, I have a couple games that have been in my backlog for too long and I really wanna finish them and get them to my local GameStop (also my place of employment). Crysis 2 and Star Wars: The force unleashed 2 are those backlogged games I mentioned. I just finished the original Crysis so I may try to blow through the second one tonight. And since I've never seen any Star Wars movies I'm still gonna play through the Force Unleashed 1 (borrowed from work) and then maybe Force Unleashed 2 if i finish the first.

Add in a little ME3 because I just got started on it, or maybe Skyward Sword, which I haven't played since I first got it the day it came out, or Xenoblade or Tales of Graces of which I haven't played at all. So many choices..

  • I really have no clue of what games I will be playing this weekend.

  • Mod

I'll be working Saturday, but aside from that, I'll be playing some Witcher 2, Radiant Historia, and a tiny bit of Limbo. Also blogging. Happy end of the week everyone!

  • Still working on Fez. 31 cubes, 20 anti-cubes. Was so proud of myself today when I figured out the pillars with tetris blocks on them.
  • I want to play The Witcher 2. BUT MY XBOX WONT GET BACK FROM REPAIR UNTILL TUESDAY >:(. Sorry for the rage I just needed to vent.
  • Playing the usual Battlefield 3, and Skyrim possibly with an mix of FIFA 12 and Metro 2033.

  • I'm oddly addicted to Xenoblade, so I'm going to continue playing that. Also, Ys: Oath in Felghana - I can't believe we actually got it on PC! Falcom has been denying us these games on platforms we actually care about for soooo long. Bravo XSeed! I don't know how you got them to get onboard Steam/PC, but it's seriously welcome! I HATE playing this on PSP.

  • I know its a little old, but I'm gonna play Skyrim all weekend. I am going to start the Dark Brotherhood. If anyone is interested I have a level 24 Dark Elf Thief/Assasin with Nightingale equipment (Thieves Guild) I recenly became a vampire but I like it so I will be testing my new powers all weekend. Thats about it.
