Original Story: It seems Amazon jumped the gun with Sony's suspected God of War reveal by publishing the game's product page a day early.
God of War: Ascension for PlayStation 3 seems to be a prequel to the original trilogy, before Kratos became the Ghost of Sparta. Not much else is known about the story, however. The listing notes, "Join Kratos as he seeks freedom, redemption, and the clarity to avenge his family in the most ambitious God of War adventure in the series so far."
The product page, which is active at the time of this publishing, also contains a short CG teaser trailer. The listing indicates the game is out sometime in 2013, but no official release date has been revealed.

My guess is the game will start with the war against the barbarians. You'll play for a little while without the blades, and then most people know what happens next. I think it will play into Kratos' psyche quite a bit, like how he didn't think of the long term consequences of asking Ares for help 'in the moment'. Instead of feeling powerful, he will be filled with remorse about the choice he made. Ares will send him on missions and Kratos will do them, but he will do so unwillingly.
Not sure how excited I'll be. I was a HUGE fan and I do love all the games. . . but. . .dunno. . .kinda feel over it. This of course could change later on.
So if Kratos lives on forever, I'm hoping they can wrap up eternity in this last installment... Still, excited I guess
I think they should hold it off for their next console, this way they can have a good launch of games for its launch.
